Here are some profiles of the AIS scholarship holders.

By having a look at each profile..who do you like the look of?

Cotchin: http://www.ais.org.au/austrules/cotchin.asp

Ebert: http://www.ais.org.au/austrules/ebert.asp

Cale Morton: http://www.ais.org.au/austrules/morton.asp

Henderson: http://www.ais.org.au/austrules/henderson.asp

Gaertner: http://www.ais.org.au/austrules/gaertner.asp

Based on those profiles, which isn't much to go by, I like the look of Cotchin.

I hope we can get Cotchin

Cotchin

lol @ firepersonology

I want Ebert

And we will get him

LOL @ Cale Morton

What do you regard as the most memorable sporting moment?

When Mohammed Ali lit the Olympic flame in Atlanta 1996

Morton was born in 1990

I'm keen on McEvoy.

I like Rhys Palmer personally. Had one really outstanding game in the Under-18 championships with 34 possessions and 5 goals. Don't know why, but he reminds me a bit of Sylvia. Plenty of the P word then, but hopefully (if he comes to us) he can get his mind focussed and develop into the top player he shows signs of being.

Got a video (bit hard to follow as its been edited a bit) with some of the soon-to-be draftees in it.

Thanks for that video mate!

First time i have actually seen some footage of them.

Palmer does look pretty impressive doesnt he, seems to be a speedster.

Cotchin or Ebert for me...

Both look promising...

Id be very interested in the last time someone was as impressive as this guy in a previous under championship match. What does a display like this tell us?

Can anyone post their knowledge of players from years gone by who have had similar games in the under 18 championships who have or have not gone on to be top class footballers?

I actually want selwood. He is meant to be the best of the 4 so they say

Cotchin or Ebert for me...

3 other guys who will be right in contention for pick 4 are:

Rys Palmer- highly rated midfielder who ripped up the championships (including one game 35 possies 5 goals)

McEvoy- the best genuine ruckman in the draft. good taps and strong around the ground (Kruiser is almost like a 199cm rover rather than a genuine ruckman)

Rance- many predict melbourne will pick Rance. he is the best key position defender in the draft and is considered one of the best key defensive prospects to come out of a draft in years. He is a definite top 10 pick, most predicting he will not go lower than pick 8. (Unlike Frawley, who was highly rated, but most rated as a lower first ruond pick, rather than a top10 pick)

can people imagine 3 highly rated key defenders (Frawley 18yrold, Rance 17yrold and Rivers 22yrold) developing together. we'd have the best backline in the league in 3 years. that could be worth seriously considering!

Add in Bell (23yrold), Pettard (19yrold), Garland (18yrold), Bartram (20yrold) and Carrol (26yrold) and we could have a seriously strong defense with all these guyz developing their skills together over the next 2-3 years.

I really rate Henderson. He is a big KPP that we really need.

KPP???

KPP???

Key Position Player.

I really rate Henderson. He is a big KPP that we really need.

this is why we need to trade for another top 10 draft pick. We need a quick skillful midfielder, as well as a KPP (be it Henderson or Rance).

I would say that we are unlikely to get within cooee of Cotchin. He'll be well gone by pick 4.

Interesting choice for Richmond at 2 if the Blues take Kreuzer at 1. Take a small in Cotchin?

Well it could be the other way around. Do Carlton take Cotchin or Kreuzer at 1, knowing that they have pick 3.

Although I don't trust these things, Ratten was asked about him going to see Kreuzer the day before and Ratten said that they went to see Cotchin. This is strange because if they didn't lose and get pick 1 (who everyone thought was Kreuzer) then they would have had pick 3 only, which was probably going to have them miss both Kreuzer and Cotchin. So why were they going to see him with the coach (who usually goes to cast a final eye)?

I have a funny feeling Kreuzer may not necessarily go first.

Kruezer will go first

thanks for that

anyone of those guys will be an awesome pickup so we won't be getting a dud at 4!

Kruezer will go first

Do you work for carlton recruiting?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
