We look tall and maybe too slow.

Yes , potentially a late out is on the cards

We are really an injury ravaged side atm and bar Zorko, I think the Lions are nearly at full strength.

Our players can have the luxury of just going for it without any expectations.

think i'd take the dogs list over ours, Darcy, Croft, Naughton, Richards, Sanders, Freijah whilst still lacking the same KPD is a bit more secure for the future than ours which has more untapped talent

Richard’s & Naughton are both 26 ..& I’d argue that Croft..Sanders & Freijah are yet to prove themselves as are many of our younger players . Darcy is definitely a plus but we have a large 25yr & under cohort which hopefully augurs well for the future

Shows more than Laurie IMHO

Can’t disagree - I think the answer is that simply neither is of AFL standard

Would rather Tommy Matthew’s get a run - purely on the idea of upside/potential rather than being ‘ready’

If Fritsch doesn't get up which I assume from Captains run is the potential out, we'll have more than 900 games experience out compared to last week.

One min Cross is in our starting line the next min he is not. I will no no longer look at the team line ups on a Thurday night. Perhaps for our line ups will should play K.P song Hot and Cold.

Looking at the 2 sides on paper most of their players will be too good for us. However .............. best to keep quiet.

I didn't see it anywhere, I'm just speculating that maybe Luker comes in as insurance in case Fritter's foot is still causing him problems.

Where did you see this? Mihocek, JvR, Jefferson and Kentfield seems too tall. Particularly if Fritsch is still in the team.

It's looking like my prediction about Fritter's foot still being a concern (based on Luker being in initial squad), might become a reality. I just saw Ghosty's post (on this morning's training run) and apparently Fritter left early and had a disappointed look on his dial. So, if Fritter's borderline, hopefully we rest him and debut Luker and let his family in WA know asap . I think it's great that Jeffo and Luker get a gig and we throw caution to the wind.

@Coolx2 what I think happened is, that when the teams were named Thursday, Lindsay was in (and named on field) and Cross was not in the selected squad.

On Friday some time before the final teams were named, Lindsay was a late withdrawal and Cross came into the squad.

So the AFL app and website etc just swapped Lindsay for Cross, making it look like Cross was named on the field. And then when the final sides were selected, they were corrected so that Cross was an emergency.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
