Apologies if already mentioned, if the Bombers lose this weekend itโ€™s a club record of 18 consecutive losses. What better team than us to hopefully deliver this to them.

I just watched the 2nd half of the Bombers v Bulldogs - so you don't have to - and it was a snooze fest.Very little pressure, the Dogs were in cruise mode and the Bombers have few players that can win their own ball. Merret still plays well but gee they have a lot of average players.

We cannot lose to this mob. It would be a national shame.

Yes, but when weโ€™ve Mihocekโ€™s experience and Fritschโ€™s nous thereโ€™s a crunch on spots.

We have to find a balance that gets Jeffo 10 or so games and Luker at least 5 if theyโ€™re both healthy.

Plenty of games to go around but some of them might require a rest or trip to Casey for Jake.

We donโ€™t โ€™have toโ€™ gift 10 games to Jefferson. If we are doing that we are nowhere as a club. If he is not good enough to force out JVR, Mihocek, Melksham, Fritsch et al - he can play out his career at Casey.

He's absolutely good enough to get a game on merit, but assuming he does and isn't a mile off the pace he needs to be kept in or even brought back in to the side through some ups and downs as most young players are - especially key forwards. That's not gifting games, it's just not overreacting to week to week output.

Except for game 1 JVR has been almost unsighted! Um Jeffo won't play his career out at Casey, will play in the ones and do well, sooner than later!

I too will spew up, but Iโ€™ll spew up with an extra $350 in my pocket. Iโ€™ve put a hard-earned hunge on the revolting no-hopers and Iโ€™ve never wanted to lose $ so bad in my life. Well since we last played them anyways.

Living on nothing but fresh air and 2-minute noodles for the foreseeable future is a sacrifice worthy of a win over them.

Sorry to hear that Ghosty

a hunge on us over 40 would be a sound bet. But whatever keeps the superstitions at bay!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

Iโ€™ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we wonโ€™t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything youโ€™d like to ask or say below and weโ€™ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics youโ€™d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
