Andy “currently playing around the half back line “

worrying goal drought from the Milkman......

Apparently Melks has been pulled off and is headed for the ‘G

Laurie and Sinnema each get their second goals for the game in quick succession. It’s starting to blow out.

Edited by KC from Casey

Someone asked me when I was posting in the wrong thread, where is Bill Laurie playing. I have seen him more as a high half forward, not attending many centre square bounces.

Moose is a real aerial presence but needs some Work tidying up his kicks.

XT more prominent this quarter after a quiet first half.

One Casey player I do recognise is Toby Sinnema, likes his game. And 64 Casey player the other one I have really noticed.

#64 is Ethan Stanley who just finished doing a pre season with Hawthorn.

Previous Fremantle Docker player.

Riley Onley’s first in the Demon colours. 84 - 40.

getting ugly for the Aints

Saints goal and reduce lead to 37 points. With 25 scoring shots to 13 we should be further in front though.

Thankyou. Interesting if he gets another shot at iit in the afl. Can play.

I know some oF us were worried about the turnover Of the Casey Players from previous years.

No need to as we look really well balanced all over the field. No noticeable drop off in skill across the full list. We may be more competitive than initially thought this year.

True … but don’t forget that the Saints have only been putting together their list over the past few months.

Another goal to Casey and the saints players heads starting to drop rapidly. I suspect saints won’t have a lot of depth to cover their afl aeaiors this year.

Half time and l a now home.

Perfect weather - sunny and no wind.

Melb . leading by a couple of goals

Tommy Mac, AMW , Bill, Adams, Moose , little Tom Matthew’s ,Berry,Lindsay Mentha playing.

Didn’t recognise most Casey guys

Matthew’s can kick the ball a fair way.

Surface at Linton st in great condition

No drainage probs!

Cheers

Saints initiated scuffle at three quarter time siren. They seemed more Interested in it than playing actually.

Our boys 44 points up. Hopefully A good last Quarter that continues on momentum at the g this arvo!

A goal to Toby Sinnema on the siren gives the Demons a big lead at three quarter time.

CASEY DEMONS 3.4.22 8.10.58 16.14.110

ST KILDA VFL 1.1.7 5.3.33 10.6.66

Goals Melksham 4 Sinnema 3 Bowden Cross Laurie 2 Bonner Onley Scapin

I seem to remember 40-odd points not being enough lead last year at 3/4 time against the saints in the ones. Surely it couldn’t happen to Casey as well!

Moose dominating in the ruck now. Giving first use to our midfield. Great we now have a real option behind big Max now.

Great accuracy that quarter with 8 goals 4

(Keep up the ratio)

Saints scored 5:3 which makes on think it's an open game in perfect conditions.

Thanks to posters at the ground and to KC. Wonderful to hear those scores and feedback.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • PREGAME: Fremantle

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
