zanker unlucky

Yeah, to not even make the squad. But then when she won the competition goal kicking she could only make the bench. 😕😠

Zanker especially stiff, plus Macca

Zanker 4th in goal kicking in the comp but the quality the getting better across the comp at a rate of knots

Has anyone watched North this year to see if Birch is worthy of an AA nomination? I wouldn't have thought the ball went into North's defence often enough for them to be getting multiple defenders nominated.

She plays for North. That in itself is worthy of nomination in the AFL's eyes. Anything outside of North is according to them second rate, and if its connected to Melbourne, why even consider them? The AFL's love affair with their favourites and contempt they have for us I don't think they're even trying to hide anymore.

Why would they have contempt for us? We’ve been flying the flag, along with the doggies, for the women’s game for decades.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
