A second clue: The common factor is not related to any profession, so you can rule out musicians, comedians, actors etc.

For the record, Good Sir, I've only just seen this thread. I'm sure I would have got it. Yeah, right.

But a posthum(our)ous point of order: the common factor is so related, if one applies the 'etc' to sweep up any marginals to the 3 arts preceding.

Yours in petulance,

Tim (but not Andrew*)

*See what I did there?

Bonnie & Clyde?

The only one, you think? That was the one that foxed me, but there were also a couple I didn't even know!

I rationalised my way into my petulance by thinking of them as professionals, celebrities in their time, and titular subjects in our time (or mine, anyway...) for both actors and musicians.

Keep 'em coming GS. I mourned your retirement.

Well done! Though admittedly though I surprise most with the breadth of my musical knowledge I absolutely have never heard of the Thompson duo. And on that even though I'll leave the musicals to my mother I know it's RoDgers and Hammerstein. Hell, even the Rodgers of Rodgers and Hart 😁 valued his D. I hope I haven't rained on your parade, Ms Streisand. I enjoyed this thread.

BTW it would've been so cool if Geelong's Kane had been Tenille rather than Tenace. 😂

Bugger.... bugger..

Missed by ... well... a little bit...

I'm not sure whether you mean that, Ethan, but, in your case, think Highman?...

🤔Bit like the ying and yang of things 😉

LOL not sure who I’d choose—probably Bontempelli, Jesse Hogan, or Zac Butters.

My father loved coffee, and now we love him as coffee.

Third prize has been claimed by the consistent @tilly18 who, for his efforts, get to pick any former MFC star to return in their peak form.

Just pipped at the post was @Ghostwriter , who also deserves a prize and will pick any former MFC player currently at another club to come home.

I read my prize incorrectly sorry Stone.

With the current options up forward I would choose Garry Lyon to have the most impact.

I didn't choose Robert Flower because that would suggest I didn't give my decision due consideration.

Looks like Demonstone definitely has a taste for history and the esoteric. Who would have thought George Burns and Gracie Allen would have been named dropped on Demonland.

I reckon David Schwarz in his pomp (ie pre-knees)would be my choice.

Now I'm in 2 minds.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
