Farewell Clayton Oliver

I don't think it would have increased Trac's brand so best he stayed away.

Picket Fence is HARMLESS.

I don’t know why anyone would bother to take him to task about anything he says. He’s not hurting anyone.

We all know PF is harmless, but he brings this on himself Ghosty. Match day first half he’s going on and on about how trading Clarry was a mistake blah blah blah. I’ve loved Clarry as a player and wish him the best, but the rumours and innuendo aren’t unfounded and it’s pretty common knowledge amongst the majority of people who talk. I agree with a poster earlier we should just close this thread and move on.

Yeah I guess I don’t realise how annoying that can be since I wouldn’t touch the gameday thread with a barge pole (once the game begins). But annoyance is nothing compared to personal attacks and cruel insults. PF is amusing albeit with a touch of irritation.

#Rude

You dont need the sniper gun up 24/7. I asked if people who actually saw him play the first 3 games could give their opinion on how he has actually been playing to cut through the noise. I was met with a response to 'go and check the stats' so I asked again.

I know you like to hold grudges but there was nothing wrong with what I said. Maybe re calibrate your idea of rude as well.

Funny how you single me out in your reply.

And by funny I mean not [censored] funny at all.

Can we cut out the rubbish, no one wants to read this stuff, start a separate "handbags at dawn" thread and put it all in there I keep clicking on this thinking there is stuff to read about Clayton but all I find is more bickering.

You are all on the same team you dills!

Not telling you how to do your job and you're not being unreasonable except for one thing.

Your original question was simply: "Does anyone know how he went in the last few games".

It's just a bit broad. It may have misled people despite the intentions being different.

Spoke to a mate of mine this morning who is a very keen GWS fan, he iterated several things,

Here's proof that PF has mates 😂😂.

But seriously without PF Demonland would be pretty boring with its legion of acolytes.

More power to Iconoclasts.

I quoted 3 people. What part of that is singling you out?

I'm sorry if Redleg was offended I could have been clearer.

No need for the pile on train.

Oliver’s first game for GWS was outstanding. He was either extracting the ball from contest or linking up in handball chains, running hard both ways, hitting targets by foot and kicked an excellent goal. His next three games he’s still getting the ball and linking up but the team is struggling and GWS’s clearance work has been messy. He’s getting a lot of it and doing his great in close handball stuff, he’s also getting to link up in more handball chains from hard running than last year, seems fitter, but is rarely the kicker and when he is tends to still do the up and under kick into the forwardline.

He’s been one of if not GWS’s best player, but they’re not the team they once were and sit 1-3 so it’s hard to tell how much positive impact he’s having. I don’t think he’s hit his peak 2020-2022 form if he even can get back there.

Very disappointed he didn’t show up for Max, he has every right to be mad/frustrated with Steven King and the club but after everything Max did for him he should’ve been there. Tomlinson, Hunt, Spargo, Marty Hore, Jeremy Howe and many others that showed could have had reason to not want to show but they did it for their mate and to retain the legacy of the good times they had at the club. Clayton should’ve done the same, I hope he does in future.

Thank you this is a great summary.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
