7 & 8 are no good to them come draft night as they'd just get swallowed up by their academy players.

not at all - they've got other picks and they can split one or both of these to accrue even more points. AND they get Petracca

Yeah the lack of talk from us and Bailey means she ain’t happening peeps.

What happened to “Less talk, more action,” though? Isn’t that what everyone asks for?

As far as we know BH has twice met with the club and has had a medical.

Don’t actions speak louder than words?

Well not when he's contracted

As we've seen time and time again, if you are a big name contracted player, the ONLY way to get your club to trade you against their will, is to blow things up and make the relationship untenable.

Last year's drfat crop is far different to this year's though. Last year any of the top 5/6 could've been taken at 1 in a strong draft, this year Lindsay would probably be top 3-5.

Drafting is not an exact science, Gonzo. You know that

17yo's & 18yo's often mature early or mature later on. And then there's the cauldron of the AFL which some relish, and others shy away from

AFL is a ruthless, tough league and under 18 footy is on a vastly different scale

Any player who is drafted has some form of talent but the key is, how good are they going to be in the big time? How good are they going to be when they are 22yo?

And what about all the top players who escape the clutches of nearly all the recruiters in the early picks?(eventually taken in the 2nd, 3rd or even the 4th round)

I'm happy to acknowledge that this years draft isn't super-strong, but I highly doubt that it's a wasteland either

If us last year and seemingly Essendon this year are anything to go by. More and more clubs are willing to hold firm with contracted players.

Would rather not get both 7&8 this year and keep next years first. Will probably be a better draft and a better draft pick

The thing is JT seems to nail our draft picks. A weak draft pool could be our biggest strength. He'll pick some random at 7 or 8 that nobody else rated and everyone will wonder how we got him.

I want Humphries and to get rid of toxic trac but if we end up with the draft picks he is one of the few people at the club that will reliably deliver except if he takes a key position forward which seems to be his weakness

I’m surprised he hasn’t gone hard with the “personal family issues” reasons.

Agree

I don’t doubt Demon Forever’s and Ghosty’s info but unless Humphrey is willing to agitate enough over the next two days a trade won’t happen

Suns know that push comes to shove we’ll trade picks for Trac, so we don’t have any leverage if Humphrey himself isn’t willing to blow it up

Does Humphrey actually have siginificant personal reasons for coming home or is he just missing his Mum's cooking?

Genuine reasons I believe

And he will probably ask for a trade every year until his deal is up

Dimma doesn't care, he obviously thinks he can win a flag in 2026 with Trac and Humphrey, and he is not a man of any integrity. He will kill your grandma if it helps him win a flag.

Assume he's not pushing super hard this year because he's been told this year not that realistic and doesnt want to rock the boat too much given he'll be reporting for pre-season soon.
Rock the boat fella.

Yes, drafting key forwards is one of the toughest areas of drafting where as sticking to mids is a much safer option

Trading for decent KPF's is a much better option but often quite costly (but worth it?)

Watts #1, Hogan (traded for) Weideman #12, Cook #10, Clark #12 (traded for), Brown #31 (traded for) van Rooyen #19, Jefferson #15, Johnson #50odd? and now Mihocek #60odd? I'd give that lot a C- (maybe C if we count Hogan now)

Edit: Fritsch #31

Disagree on this occasion.

Humphrey isn’t the main event of this trade. This is about GC needing Trac badly. People undervaluing Trac need to imagine how incredibly well he’d fit into GC and where they are right now.

I almost prefer to keep Trac, watch him have a proper monster season. Get Humphrey next year.

But I expect GC to cave last minute. And the last minute cave from GC will be good for us, Humphrey + p7 for Trac + junk picks.

This is an accurate assessment. Nothing happens in regards to Bailey Humphrey unless he publicly requests a trade home.

Otherwise it's picks

Great can't wait for Oakes to say absolutely nothing useful

He couldn't get a sandwich out of a wet paper bag, let alone Humphrey out of the clutches of Dimma

I get the feeling he might be going on to shut this down for good.

Next year every big club will have prepared for Bailey Humphrey. We're in a unique position now with Trac. We won't be able to shoot this shot next year.

Yeah this was our chance but it looks like Suns won't play ball unfortunately.

Well he's going to be on trade radio. time to say

"Bailey has a really serious set of personal circumstances and he desperately wanted to get back to Vic, specifically the MFC, unfortunately to this point the GCS aren't listening to him and he is quite dissapointed in the lack of care he's being shown"

Watch the landscape dramatically change if the managed gives the Suns a good whack and publicly declares his intentions.
