2025 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

Featured Replies

The superstar Demon midfielder made a successful return to the fold after his devastating injury last year and the subsequent fallout from the treatment he received, during which time he sought to depart the club. Petracca's professionalism and strong play, both in the midfield and up forward, were outstanding and resulted in him being runner-up in the club's best and fairest count. However, early this week, the club's new CEO, Paul Guerra, confirmed that the under-contract Petracca has again requested a trade, adding that he would only be allowed to leave for a “quality offer that turns our head". No doubt some Demon heads are already spinning.

He's got a bright future in the Red and Blue that lad!

Can someone please explain what is a contract??

Someone if their own volition signs for x years at $y - so far I understand.

Then the player changes his mind and wants out - why should the original club be liable for 0.01 cents of his salary elsewhere? Hasn’t he breached his contract unilaterally?

Sure, if we want him out becoming the party that breached the contract, then we need to make a deal that satisfies him.

How does it all actually work out?

Petracca is a legend of the MFC whether he stays or goes, prefer him with us but if he is against us we really need to ensure that we are adequately compensated. CP5’s don’t grow on tree’s.

Whinges and cries about our small crowd sizes (even though it’s not true according to the home crowd tables over the last 2-3 years) and chooses Gold Coast… 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤡

…What a clown…

man ive lost my love for this bloke. even on the off chance he stays.

He is off to the GC. They have the credit needed to get a deal done. Crows never had it. When we get Draft spots / players and $1+ off our books it will be a good result.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
