Raynar was pushed, from behind, 150m off the ball. I don't care if he went down softly, that's the risk you take doing those kind of off the ball [censored].

Daicos (who is an outstanding footballer) and others go down softly in the play. Take the tackle and drop in a way that makes the contact look bad.

The second is the type of behaviour they need to stop, not the Raynar situation.

I don't follow US football, but I guess they don't have commentators revelling in a bit of biffo and melees like we do.

The point, once again, is consistency.

If they pay those free kicks every time no one would be whining. But they dont - you see that contact 50 times a game.

Far out I've turned off a bunch of pods as theyve gotten into this topic. Geelong are the footy medias love-child, and uproar over these free kicks is the big thing they've taken from a weekend of great footy. Lame.

This won't be popular here. But I absolutely hate this part of Kozzy's game. I think Koz would be up there in the AFL for the biggest culprits of getting into a player after they have given away a free kick. He does it almost every time. I love the guy and how he plays on the edge but its becoming a bad habit IMO and often messes with his concentration in continuing the game.

Worse is when Koz kicks a goal after winning a free kick, instead of going to his team mates first to celebrate the goal, he'll often find the player who gave it away to push and shove and rub it in his face. It's so unnecessary.

The umpires need to be stronger in this. Its happening far too often and becoming an ugly part of our game.

For a start I think similarly to umpire dissent rules where often an umpire will call out a warning to a player thats crossing the line with how they're speaking to umpires. Perhaps the same could go for players going overboard with physical taunting. I'd like to hear the umpires call out to players something like "Koz if you do that again I'm going to reverse the free kick".

I agree @YoungBlood. I cringe when I see our players doing that sort of stuff.

Depends. Sometimes they push them off because the player, who the free was paid against, is clinging onto them to buy time for their team to run back and set up. In those circumstances, I have no issues with the push off/push down.

I'd rather the push off/push down was unnecessary because umpires have paid a 50m penalty. It amazes me given the AFL's insistence on "speeding up the game" that it hasn't become the norm for 50m penalties to be paid for opponents hanging on or stopping players from getting up off the ground after a free kick or mark is awarded.
