JVR — solo forward crucified

I'm not saying your wrong JB.

It's a difficult job to rate with only 3 words.

And I do appreciate and enjoy your work.

But according to your assessment, 17 players were below par. Some a fair way below( no pun intended).

I'm not saying your wrong either.

A pretty damning summation.

MFC.....where's the pride?

......where's the passion?

...where's the enthusiasm?

...where is Waldo?

At this stage anyone's a good substitute.

What has happened to him?

I thought last year would be a breakout year.

It wasn't so I thought maybe this year.

Sadly he has gone so far backwards, so quickly, it's hard to comprehend.

And here's me thinking not long ago, he's our next DS or DN.

Silly me.

Agree with the Windsor sentiments. Goodwin is trying turn him into Jayden Hunt which is laughable. The way we are set up with no clear exit does him no favors.

Hope to god we end up with Longmire before Windsor gets destroyed. A lot of similarities with Gulden in the sense he was drafted as a an agile wingman with great agility with little experience as an inside on ball player.

Longmire turned an already elite outside player who can hit the 45 degree kicks with ease into a crucial piece of the Swans on ball brigade.

If Windsor can become half as good, I’ll be happy.

Well funny about that there were people on this site thinking that was going to work never was going to work Windsor is an outside player with a run

We have to many players out of form. Obvious.

We have not had a strong KPF since BBB finished up.

Petty or T Mc are not rhe answer forward although Petty be rotated Forward/Back with Turner?.

Jeffo will take more tine

We need to recruit a tall via draft and or trade.

Maybe should have got Membry or Darling for a year or 2?

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
