THE LAST TIME THEY MET

Melbourne ended Geelong's undefeated run in a thrilling encounter at the MCG with Bayley Fritsch and Kozzie Pickett providing a highlights package between themselves.

The former dribbled through a spectacular goal from the boundary line late in the term to decide the issue.

On the assumption Kozzie, Lever and Windsor are in.....

So the only certain outs for Friday night are McVee and ANB from a team that beat the then undefeated Geelong to be 6-2 and be 4th on the ladder with the 4th best percentage, and only 1 win off the league leading Sydney.

How can you now be talked about as a bottom 2 with minimal turnover?

I seriously cannot recall beating Geelong last year.

Having a major "Mandela Effect" moment.

Yikes.

Petty was bog that day at chf - marked everything kicked to him

This was the game I thought everything was rosy at the club; didnโ€™t last many weeks when Flagmantle belted us in the Alice

We looked like contenders while the Hawks only had 2 wins. Crazy how quickly it changed.

That goal from Fritsch is an all-time MFC highlight. The rundown tackle and goal from Windsor was also an amazing moment for a first year player.

That game feels like a century ago.

Fritta's goal was magic - not just the gorgeous hockey-stick turn he achieved to sneak the skidding spinning ball it between the big sticks, but his work to get possession of the ball and keep it in play in the lead up.

Are we actually going to stand for anything this year or are we going to just go through the motions and get bent over a barrel every week without no lube?

If these so called players that want out, still want out at years end here is a plan.

Play your heart out for the remainder of the year, set the youngsters up and play yourself to another club.

Stop friggen mopping around and feeling sorry for yourselves and actually get behind the club and string some performances together.

Friday night football the streets are watching!

Damn this was a good game. Petty was awesome (how good was it to see? Made us briefly remember why we fought to keep him - which is another story in hindsight maybe... although I still think he's capable - where has he gone? Truly mystified). And that Fritter control on the boundary line and class to kick that goal. Oof, where has that guy gone, too?

We need these guys back, not the shells we have currently. That goes for quite a few, if we are to win this!

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
