Walls' article is painfully shallow.

Whats he saying 'hey, Melbourne have some valuable players which would be great for anyone but Melbourne'.

Basically it sounds like his advice is to hit the PANIC button.

Stuff him. These players are Melbourne.

And the Hawks got the jackpot by trading overvalued second-raters, not first raters.

And Everitt, which is a 'special' case.

I notice Crawford still plays for Hawthorn. Surely they should've picked up a first round pick for him?

you dont trade your best players unless there's a massive reason to (to get Judd maaayyybbeee)

was a rediculous article and lost credibility because he suggested trading players like bruce and green for 2nd round picks...if you were to trade these players as he suggested, you would only do so to get something valuable in return...

a second round pick you pick up an 18 yr old who might be good in 2 years, and might be great, who knows...for Green or Bruce, 26 year old players who are great now.

ive got no problem with walls saying this. i bet that we think about this every year. but to trade white, robbo or green we would need to be getting something good in return. a first round pick and a player who will play 20 games a year for us at least.

if opposition clubs said we want bruce, here is player x and a pick (between 1 and 10), and the player was 18-24 and going to be a regular player for melb id take it, even if that player isnt a star. if we could have 3-5 first round draft picks at the end of this year we would jump at the chance. if we had that we would secure the future of our list. we might not win a flag next year but added 3 first round players to the current crop of youngsters and we would be in a better shape than we are now...

the club would trade those players if the offer was good and i would be disappointed if we refused to trade any player.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
