It probably does sound as though they don’t get any training done but of course they do. I chit-chat with them before and/or after the session. Also sometimes when they’re in the tent which is really only meant to be for players but I get to go in because I ran it by both Richo and Goody ages ago and they said it’s fine. I never stay in there for long anyways. And of course, walking back to AAMI usually with Clarrie is my fave time.

Gotta add: the players and coaches are so grateful for the DA. They all know I’m in the cheer squad and they regularly tell me how much they respect and appreciate us. I think this is why they always make me feel welcome. Even their loved ones are grateful. At a session recently a woman came over and said hello. I didn’t know who she was and asked her name. She said she’s Kath, Tmac’s mum. I introduced myself and she said, “Oh I know who you are” and proceeded to praise the DA.  🥰

Awww that's sweet.

I am sure they are, you and the rest of the DA invest a lot of time each week. Treasures - all of you. Thank you :-)

(I was a member of the cheer squad some moons ago. When my littlest one (18m) is a little older and I start bringing him to games - I will very much look to bring him and my eldest (5yo) into the cheer squad to take part as well. Great times with lovely people, for the best club in the world).

I don't think Gus will be involved in anything, will he @WalkingCivilWar?

I hope if he does, that the club makes a massive deal about it, because I reckon you'll get 10,000 more fans there if they know we are getting to farewell Gus properly.

I will of course be there regardless, as will my husband, who is gutted to be losing his favourite player Nibbler

I doubt Gus will be there, mainly because he can’t cope with very loud noise. Unless this is no longer an issue 🤷‍♀️ Even then, I don’t think he’d be ready yet. Hopefully some time in the not too distant future.

I thought of your husband when this news came to light. Nibs being his fave player has always made me smile. I once told Shazza that you had transformed your Tigers supporting husband into a dedicated Dees man and that his favourite player is Nibs. She was so delighted she slapped me on the back and I’ll never tell her anything good ever again 😂 I’ve likely still got the slap-mark to this day. She’s a slight build but boy she doesn’t know her own strength!

We’ll be told on Thursday what’s been planned. I’m happy to share on here 😊

According to Goody's Presser they will be honouring the 64 premiership team as well. Hassa Mann was at the club today talking about his hate for Collingwood.

This is such an important point.

One of the (many) things that really frustrates me about how footy is covered by the media is the thread of blatant hyprocicy that runs through it.

Take the way clarry's situation has been covered

Media people love to bang on how great footy clubs are in terms of 'wrapping their arms around' players who are experiencing personal issues.

But then all season they get stuck into clarry and the club because it's great for clicks.

And give the club very little, if any, kudos for how they have wrapped their arms around claz and support him through what is probably the most difficult period of his young life.

And, similarly don't give claz kudos for his commitment and the work he is doing.

It's particularly galling when it's ex players who are being hypocritical given every one of them would understand how challenging the whole thing us.

Even more galling is the completely disingenuous coverage about all things players struggling with mental health issues.

Actually, disingenuous is being kind. The media is a huge part of the problem and rarely a meaningful part of the solution.

If it bleeds it leads

That’s right… the 60th anniversary of that premiership. ❤️ 💙

This match is gonna be a big celebration of many things. God, it would mean so much to win this.

I hope it's also a celebration of Maynard getting a well deserved smack down.

Awwww really cool idea PF but there are so many crazies out there that I fear for our safety. Who knows what lurks in the dark and dusty crevices of Demonland?! The ones of whom we are aware are concerning enough, what of the ones we don’t know????

I apologise for being overly cautious but for the last couple of months I’ve been addicted to true crime and it’s at a point where I can’t sleep without first watching a grisly murder. The grislier the murder the better I sleep. True story. Even when sleeping at hotels etc… bedtime murder. And at Mrs Fritta’s house (in Fritta’s old bed). She’s now convinced I’m the reason there’s a ghost in her house. Again… true story.

This has made me super wary of anyone who clearly isn’t in possession of all their marbles, if you know what I mean.
