they've claimed it's their final tour for 20 years

Think I last saw them live 7 years ago and it was said they would be their last live gigs back then 😁

I don't understand why Petty still get a game let alone others. Are we tanking now? Sestan couldn't get a game because the so called coaches reckon he needs to achieve certain things (criteria) other say he hasn't got the tank. We continue to selected players who have a tank and run around like headless chooks. Fullarton doesn't get a game because he is not up to it, this not my opinion. He didn't play for the first two games as he was an emergency, probably not going to play for the same reason. He has missed out on game time from byes. What do we expect from him.

The roos' pressure and contest has been good, but they lack the fitness to maintain it for four quarters.

I doubt we'll be fully wound up, but the roos are coming of a six day break and we're coming off a bye.

I think the roos will either come out flat, or come up out with good intensity but fade.

Not going tonight?

Definitely going tonight!

I wouldn’t miss it for the world. And it’s my son’s 19th birthday today. This morning I told him that as a gift I’ll stay home tonight. He said, “Mum, believe me, you NOT staying home is a gift.” 😂

Funny little [censored]-er huh 😆

edit: he and I both know my offer to stay home was as half-arzed as they come. One of these years he’ll call my bluff and that’s when sch!t gets real. 😆

Oh and don’t forget: a new head coach, new line coaches, a new president, a new CEO, new medicos, new water carriers, a new boot-studder, but NOT a new runner coz we’ve already got one waiting in the wings 😜

He’s 6ft2 and weighs 100+ kilos. I once witnessed him lift a washing machine onto the back of a ute… by himself. 😳

Yeah yeah, but can he take a contested mark?

Glad I put some money on North at the start of the week. I’m happy to lose that money if we win, but if we lose it’ll be at least some consolation.

Does anyone know if you can download a replay from Kayo to watch offline? Hoping to watch the replay on the 7 hour flight home

If the plane has WiFi enabled you could probably watch the replay stream on kayo.

Besides that, I don't know if you can download from kayo.

Kayo struggles to stream with my high speed NBN. I can only imagine how amazing the stream will be using airplane WiFi 😂

Fair enough. I never have any problems with the stream.

Thought so, but someone had to be the guy to take it literally and I couldn't resist.

Edit: Happy Birthday son!

North to be 7 up at half time. Unlike Collingwood, who are actually a good team, we will surrender meekly. Roffey and Pert will break their silence and sack Goodwin mid week

I agree, Binman. I reckon the Roos will either come out flat, or we will. Or they’ll come out with intensity, or we will. Or…we’ll both come out with intensity…or both be flat…or flat out terrible…or…I don’t know, maybe there will be patches of flat out intensity and just plain flatness…

I’m not sure which…

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
