I think you are not fully understanding the issue here demon3615 (I say with complete respect!!)

I am expressing frustration about how the laws of this game are interpreted and adjudicated both on and off the field.

I rarely watch games other than watching the Dees. I get my bias here with our club. I don’t watch other games because I believe I can sit back and see fault in how the umpires get too many decisions wrong and can see inconsistencies.

I could not give a rats about decisions going my way watching a team I don’t give a rats about

I do understand the issue but understand that unless you change the game fundamentally things won't change so it's no use being frustrated by it

Let’s not confuse poor game play with poor umpiring decisions.

Two different issues.

People moan and then move on it's only a talking point for so long and then it's on to the next game.

That is the EXACT AFL attitude…

Put the Unpires in a Media Conference scenario every weekend and they will sharpen up their eye sight immediately.

And will anything change?

Yawn: you are so boringly predictable. If I was the only one in Oz land complaining about how comes it that that the game is being marred by way too many umpiring howlers then you might have a case. You are Robinson Cruso on an island infested by incompetent men and women in white whose main weapon is a whistle and a tongue which orders, Desist!

And they say oh missed that one nothing's going to happen.

Until the change occurs, people will complain! Don’t minimise people’s frustration and expressing it by blaming the fundamentals of the game.

The AFL is a farcical competition…………..if you value a level and fair playing field.

What's fair about the draw people moan about that does that change, no

It’s not a draw, it’s a fixture

Fully agree. Start a new thread on this issue.

Not the case in point with adjudicating the game on game day

No. The Umpire’s would not want to look bad under analysis. Not on a weekly basis in front of the Media Pack.

And all you do is moan about it what is that going to solve.

Is it moaning? Or discussing the issue?

Who cares about crowd supporters I don't just as they don't care about Melbourne supporters.

You’re missing the point. What happened to Adelaide could happen to any club, well, almost any club. Imagine how you’d feel if an umpire denied us of not only a win but a finals berth.

I will still hopefully wake up the next day say we were robbed on then get on with life it's only a game.

Well any club not named Collingwood or Carlton.

The Croms were robbed a finals game/experience from a poor goal umpiring decision last year. Given the Croms had not played finals for long time, the stage of their list development, it was kinda important and very wrong.

This wasn’t given the air time Lachie Neal received today for peck on the cheek to Abbey.

So maybe teams playing against say, Collingwood, for example, should always make sure they bank enough of a score in preparation for the inevitable dodgy umpiring decision in the dying minutes of the game?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
