Wasted many many undergrad hours and brain cells at Naughtons. Didn't do us any good in that era. Mind you Vinnie Cattogio came and coached us for a couple of seasons before joining the mighty Red and the Blue.

I'm hearing a rumour from a reliable source (Nudge), that Harmes, T. Mac, BBB and our future 4th will get the deal done. As a sweetener, we'll also offer them Dunstan.

Ah Naughtons ... the home of the sporting drinkers.

I was a Clyde man... great flounder and a pot for lunch

I hear Naughtons is quite upmarket these days.

O those days of Friday lunchtime bands and the Wizard........ I digress

When the off-season has come
And the mcg is dark
And the trade period is the only light we'll see

You can have King, Wade, McKenna and Hudson in our forward line and still wouldn't kick a winning score. King just a youngster starting out whilst Wade had Goggin then Krakouers, Mckenna had Price etc hitting them up on the lead whilst Hudson had the whole forward line to himself. Until our current Mids learn to lower eyes and deliver correctly then no big name in our forward line will get us to the next premiership. Would prefer mids with elite disposal and awareness and stay with Petty JVR etc. Give me a Guilden like player and I'd be happy.

Yes to all of that.

Trouble is i believe there was some attempt to right the ship in 2021 which obviously paid off.

Unfortunately we now appear to have regressed in 22/23 to pre 2021 methods of entry.

If Goodwin, the FD and the MFC are serious about fixing things here we'll have a new forward line coach with serious cred coming on board for 24.

Plus a really good crack at some new midfield talent with a bit of pace in the draft.

Hopefully Sanders if we can snare him around pick 5

All the aforementioned FFs knew how to lead into the path of the ball.  Had they been instructed to all gather in the pocket ready for a bomb they would never have achieved what they did.

Are our FFs instructed NOT to lead, or haven't they and those upfield, and those instructing them,  thought it may be a good idea?

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
