Great to see

I hope someone is looking after our oral and now visual history.

Every player from the 2021 premiership side should have their story of the day recorded plus the coaches of course. Like archives they can restrict their publication for say ten years but imagine a detailed interview with Norm Smith and Ron from 1964... not to mention a follow up in 1966

I loved this. Great idea for a series. Look forward to the next eps.

How lucky are we to have this man as our captain. The best captain in the AFL hands down.
Not just a genuine superstar, but the most empathetic, down to earth, relatable and likable character in the game. You would just love to play with him and for him.

I’d love this. Especially grand final day video recordings of the bench and coaches box. Lock it away for a decade or two (or three) and release it in full. Would be incredible to see how the whole process works whilst watching the game.

Wow.  That was just so well done.  We are so fortunate to have had these two as captains and of course as players.

That was a strange - video listening to a recount of an injury. I get the focus was mindset but still it was strange to talk about that specific moment and not something else that the average joe can relate to.

On the day Kozzi signs on, another stunning example of our ‘culture’. Authentic and brilliant from Max and Garry.

Okay, in 2021 the players were isolated and in a bubble and they managed to win the big one.  They did it. They all deserved it, the players, the footy department. A few lucky supporters got over there to see it happen.

The plan for the following year was that the players wanted to do it again back at the G for their family, friends and fans back home. Admirable, but for various reasons, did not manage to pull it off.

Change in plans. Forget the fans. Big Max wants to do it for his dad and family. I want the players to see this clip and to do it for Max. What an incredible inspirational leader.  With the right mindset they can beat anyone.

Everyone else will just come along for the ride. All aboard!

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
