Want to add a few more.

The game was played on grass.

There was no roof.

Was played in daytime.

Had to wear footy guernseys.

Ball was made of leather.

Only allowed 18 on ground for them.

A plane flew overhead.

The car park was full.

There was no grandstand on the outer side.

They ran out of hot dogs.

Dusty wasn’t feeling like it.

Etc, etc, etc.

They ran outta gas.

They had a flat tire.

They didn't have enough money for cab fare.

Their gurnseies didn't come back from the cleaners.

An old friend came in from outta town.

Someone stole their car.

There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts! It wasn't their fault! I swear to God!

They traffic was horrendous

The toilet seats in the change rooms should have been left up for good luck

The coin toss was crooked

The mosquito's were too annoying

Their sunglasses fogged up too much

They were required to wear masks in Covid

The Tattslotto place was too far to pick up the div 1 check

It was pizza and chocolate's fault that they were obese.

Before we recruited Langdon and Hunter, we were desperate, and I mean DESPERATE for decent wingers and some outside ball movement.

Such important pieces of the puzzle now.

Crucial for the MCG

In the 70’s the wingmen of both sides were so important and we seem to have realized again what an attacking asset they are

Word association has stirred up an old memory. Who else remembers the Esso advertising slogan of the 1960s and 1970s of "Put a tiger in your tank"?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
