That goal was something out of the box.

How many times do players have a ping from well outside 50 after the siren like that, only to completely shank it and or not get enough on it and have it drop 20 - 30m short.

I don't think it was any fluke either. Jayden was really quite an accurate and reliable set shot for goal and somewhat underrated as a forward.

    Well done on a fantastic career full of highlights, excitement and some solid honest performances mixed in there as well. Was too often admonished for his lack of poise and accuracy of disposal comming out of defense in his earlier years, but by the time he'd left the MFC, I felt he'd actually matured into quite a well rounded footballer.

    Along with Melksham and Kossie, he was instrumental in the come from behind win we had against Carlton a few years back, with some daring run through the middle and great pin point passes that ended in match winning goals.

    Was also there for one of Jayden's break-out games at Carrara / Metricon back in 2016 when the team had one of it's biggest wins in many years and that new bloke Jayden Hunt dashed and weaved the ball out of the backline and I thought we had a super star in the making. Still one of my favourite games of footy.

    In retrospect, Jayden had a bit of an almost / not quite career's in terms of super stardom, but still a career he should well be proud of and us mere mortals can only be envious of.

    Was one of the rare players that I didn't resent leaving us for another club and was very happy to see prosper at their new home. Thanks for the memories while you were in the red and blue Jayden and enjoy the rest of your life.

    Remember he didn't even have a picture on the draft coverage he was so out of left field? Loved Hunt. I would have taken him back next year. Had a dip in form this year but he was a real grafter for us and overall good at WCE. Well done on a great career.

    Jayden Hunt ,well done one of my favourites to watch .What about that goal he kicked in Alice Springs a 60 m torpedo ,easily goal of the year .I remember him at one of the best and fairest nights he went out of his way to spend some time with the Great Noel Mc Mahon ,A ripper of a player and a ripper of a bloke one of my and my wife's favourite Dees .

    I thought the same.

    A little bit disappointing that we got were content letting him go ostensibly for those reasons but remained a team that rewarded butchery by foot.

    Was a great fave. Dashing, brave, tough in his own way. Yes, a bit wayward by foot, but as others point out - not the Lone Ranger there. Was really disappointed we let him go when leg speed was one of our issues. Great guy to go with it - a different sort of unit that was refreshing. Enjoy retirement Hunty!!!

    I was disappointed when we let Jayden go, particularly regarding the way it was handled, and it is a shame that the move to West Coast didn't work out for him after the first year.

    Very few players make it past ten years in the AFL and 172 senior games is a great effort. Well done Jayden - I hope to see you back playing in bayside Melbourne next year.

    Didn't play footy until Year 11 due to his size.

    Was part of the Kelly/ Salem Tyson trade and was a major win. Only missed a premiership due to injury, would've never lost his spot if so

Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

      Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
