Being interstate I went down to my local newsagent today to excitedly pick up my copy of Records 2022 season guide.  The first page I open to is on ours in the club section - only to discover they still have us listed as having 12 premierships (obviously an error as it lists all 13) - but seriously - WTF.  Having suffered through arguably the toughest period any AFL club has had to endure and broke a 57 year drought it somehow escaped the editors that as the new reigning premiers we have now got an extra premiership 😡.

Edit I just learned it was Charlie Spargo and not Tom Sparrow who kicked the goal from outside 50 to put us 18 points up--- I mean DOUBLE WTF**ingF!

This is a publication that purports to be a reference document.

At the risk of sounding like a pedant - here's another one - see if you can spot the error.

From p14:  the feature article on the premiership win.

Goals Melbourne:  Fritsch 6, B. Brown 3, Petracca 2, Neal-Bullen 2, McDonald 2, Spargo, Brayshaw, Saprrow, Oliver, Langdon, Jackson

I buy the AFL record regularly  and I know it may sound petty, but I'm disappointed in spending $40 on a reference publication that has so many obvious proofing errors (considering they are all to do with the premiers - you would think someone would be paying closer attention).

Obviously Saprrow (and Salem)

Maybe Basil was overseeing it?

That's a typing errror clearly not an accuracy issue with Sparrow ANB yes 2 goals instead of Salem so one each. To be fair there could well be far worse inaccuracies elsewhere  as it's not just a mag about the  Dees but just that  we are hanging onto any articles that remotely refer to our 2021 triumph.

Your point  in reality is very valid as they have had 4 months to come up with this historical annual publication and the AFL should get it right.

Of course the AFL have had such VIP issues as listening to  Chris Scott suggesting 5 months later why the Prelim was not delayed ( probably until Tom Stewart was fully fit from his leg injuries. Etc.and that Covid or the mysterious local Perth Flu might be over by then).

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
