2021 Player Reviews: #23 James Jordon

After waiting in the wings for two seasons, Jordon got his opportunity in the opening round game against Fremantle and established himself as a hard worker in the team’s second tier of midfielders, also gaining a rising star nomination. Later in the season, he shared that position with Tom Sparrow who shaded him out of the starring 22. Jordon was left outside looking in as medical sub late in the season, a position he occupied in the grand final but he was never out of the 23 player list for the club’s 25 matches.

I am really looking forward to seeing JJ in 2022 he has shown that he can fill in multiple roles but next year he will need to find his spot in the team as LJ, Riv, Kozzi, Sparrow and Bowey have done. Another big preseason please JJ.💕❤️💙

I wonder how he has dealt with getting a Premiership medallion without getting onto the ground?

Shame Maysie didn't take himself off about half way through the final quarter to give JJ a run. He (Maysie) was physically done.

May is nearly 30, he has played for many years and these were his first finals. He deserved to be on the ground at the end.

We tried to get him on.

There is no reason it had to be May either.

JJ had a fantastic debut year,  based on a strong pre season, and very solid performances in most games where he took the field.  He’s not a ‘flashy’ player, but (I expect) just gets the job done as the coaches ask of him each week.
Spazz overtook him in the last 1/4 of the season, but I reckon they both have strong futures at the MFC.
