I've just had something unexpected crop up and will be away from the computer until tomorrow.  Rather than keep people dangling, I'll reveal that the answer is all the players share a surname with a comedian (their names in purple).

Nice to see you recognise Frankie Boyle in your side Demonstone, albeit on the bench. Personally I'd be building my side around him. As for the answer to your quiz however I have no idea unfortunately. 

If only I'd thought about it a bit more. It's not like there are a lot of people to choose from with the surname Dangerfield.
