Great news! Can't wait. I really look forward to the podcast every week, especially after a win (so most times this year)!

The deep dive analysis is really appreciated and something that the media won't spend an hour talking about just the Dees.

Lockdown Special.

So a whole show about James Harmes?

Great analysis guys. One of the problems of a Monday night podcast at 830 is it clashes with On The Couch. All caught up now though. Didn't realise it was on tonight until 11 this evening.

Sorry about that. The LIVE aspect of the show is really secondary. It is a podcast after all.The reason I decided to do a podcast LIVE was to have the ability to get people to call in.

This week Monday suited better because of the Friday game followed by another Friday game. I didn’t want too much time to have passed from the last game and too little time for people to listen before the next one.

Excellent news, an early Demonland podcast. Will listen while doing the obligatory exercise this morning. Is always a great listen, thanks Andy, George, Grapeviney and binman.

Missed the poddie last night but caught up this morning.  Outstanding work as usual.  Thanks!!

Was thinking about our forward line compared to our last best season in 2018.

We used to score much higher..

Tom Mac 50
Hogan 48
Melksham 32
Nibbler 27
Hannan 22
Trac 19
Watts Garlett Fritz 18
Jones Gus Max Spargo Oliver 14

Thats a lot of high goal scoring. Surprised by Anbs and Melkshams.

Great improvement from Fritta. Trac is down.

I know our defence is keeping sides from scoring but I would love us to boot more goals.

This year we have Tmac and Fritta tracking really well but we need a few more to impact.

Kozzies been good but Im not sure who else is going to dominate. Maybe Spargo and Anb.

Would be great if Sam or Bb would step up so as to not have our backline work so hard all the time.

Further to this we are not seeing the bleeding of unaswered goals that we used to. I would assume that the tightening up our defensive game is going to have the effect of lower scores offensively.

We are controlling ball movement a lot more then we before. Games are less manic. So many pinpoint 15m chips out of pressure situations. And when we pull the trigger its thought through compared to those old long random bombs into the fwd line

We are slowing down our oppositions' movement and they are struggling to get quick inside fifties. Might not always be as exciting to watch with us scoring less goals but it will sure increase the longevity of most Demonlanders.

Great podcast boys, thanks.

Also thanks to @binman for the First Crack on Kayo recommendation. It’s my new favourite footy program.
It is brilliant to see that wide down the ground video. Much easier to see how all the parts of the machine work together. And work they do. Also easy to see how it would fall apart if just one player wasn’t doing their part.
That sort of commentary is the antithesis of B.Ts inane nonsense

It’s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?
