Happy Mother Day

Woke up and had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming again . Red and Blue all over on the outside from bruising .

First time I can remember to the Dees on top of the ladder ( not sure what happened in 2005 ) . First time I am watching On the Couch .  First time I am watching most other games . First time I am happy to talk footy with anyone . First time on Demonland . Plus lots more .

Footy is much more fun when your team are doing well .

Yeah it's All a bit surreal.  I watched the game on the deck of my Airbnb in Sydney so I couldn't yell like normal but I didn't really think that we would lose even when they got within a kick at the end

Funny you mention that, since we’ve been flying I think I’ve watched pretty much every other game. Something I haven’t done in many years. How good is footy

I wasn’t being serious Hutch! Just the sense of positiveness that has not been felt since the early 2000’s about my club.

My almost 6yr old is wrapt every time I tell him we’ve won so that is a bonus as well, I think I’ve got him hooked to the Dees.

It’s amazing how your expectations of the team change. Wasn’t worried about losing last night at any point, whereas in prior years I would have spent the entire game waiting for the Swan’s to run over the top. Nothing lasts forever, so need to enjoy this moment.

First time on Demonland .

I, too, have only recently discovered Demonland. How cool are the faithful here?! There’s such a great vibe here. Everyone is so bl00dy nice! Sure, there’s the odd spot-fire of narkiness here and there, but in general Demonlanders are awesome!!! Oh, and...

GO THE MIGHTY DEEEEEZ !!!

❤️?

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
