Ben Brown done

a 1st round pick done or the draft picks in hand obviously outlining our intentions to secure one

official word of APhillips trade or commitment as a DFA

one of TPhillips, Narkle, CCox in a trade

only then will i be satisfied ?

A first rounder is not on the Agenda if u can believe the talk last week What has Ben done for Josh Mahoney to alter that stance

Pick 31 plus 50 should suffice and another player or a first round pick should be traded for  us to have a hand later today on a class reject from one of the Clubs that are not wAnted.

If we just look at a regular AFL player then Tom Phillips George Hewitt ( exchange for Oscar or dome deal involving Tom) or Cat Narkle or Brodie from Gold Coast. All would be cheap and still allow our top trade ambitions to survive.

BUT I would like Josh  Mahoney To contact JUSTIN WESTHOFF from Port to come out of retirement.

Is versatile and Perfect third/ fourth defender or attack and is good kick fir goal to boot and  great Clubman  with Experience for say  2 years.

In all honesty I haven't seen it anywhere outside of this site. I mentioned him after he was delisted and have seen one or two other posters mention his name in whispers.

But he does make sense IMO. Seasoned 27 year old small defender/HB with a bit of pace and good kicking skills. Kind of what we need.

By golly This would have the Oscar haters confused. Who to criticise the most. Why did Pies move him on and NOW why when Roos are having a fire sale would you take Marley?

Lockhart is twice the player and 3/4 years younger and makes far less mistakes than Zmarleh who is a coach killer at worst and disposal not great at best.

We font need half backs we need goal scorers and outside runners oh and Ben Brown!!

Unsure about Tmcd.  Happy to see Tmcd stay or go. If he goes, 1- try to use the pick to get Narkle. 2- need Andrew Phillips from Bombers (save ourselves $450k a year) for a future 4th round. But I’m tipping Tmcd stays.

Really want

1- Ben Brown - MFC pick 31 and pick 68 to Kangas

2- Dogs pick 14 - swap for MFC pick 26,33. Gets Dogs 1290 points

### End up with 3 picks 14, 43 , 50. ###

Pretty much agree SONS

The two obvious ones are to secure Ben Brown and to improve our draft position if possible (although we know the latter can be done at any time right up to and including the actual draft).

I don’t have any further hopes or expectations for today but I would like to think that Tom McDonald, if he stays, can revitalise his career and show all the naysayers that they were wrong.

Have you looked at our list recently? If we don't need half backs, why on earth were we trying to reinvent Harmes as a half back this year?

We have Salem & Rivers who can hold spots down for some time, though they may eventually want Rivers to move to a wing. Hibberd and Jetta are both the wrong side of 30 and that leaves us with either unproven or NQR options like Lockhart, Hore and Smith.

Oh and as for disposal, since 2016 Williams lowest disposal efficiency in any season is 71%, a mark Lockhart is yet to hit in his two seasons.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
