Unless he becomes our CEO, then whatever role we could offer him would be a step down. He's highly regarded as a sports administrator and leader, but not sure we'll see him back at the club.

Interesting timing though and he was considered heavily for a role at the club in the past few years.

Will be interesting to see what comes of the revenue sharing model.

If 7 are successful at pulling out of the broadcast agreement then the players could lose a huge chunk of shared revenue if they are guaranteed a percentage not a set amount.

My guess is big Nicho heads to the safer waters of steady business rather than sport

All the players want  a percentage of the revenue, now that the revenue is going down big time I bet they want to change that. The AFL must be spewing, Paul marsh would want to change the model again. Greed always stuff U in the end.

Maybe he just wants a quieter life... like the CEO who becomes a plumber.

Actually, I've never met a former CEO who has become a plumber...has anyone??

The problem with the revenue model in addition to what you have mentioned is how you measure revenue.

Does it include sponsorships for example where the power clubs would be receiving 2-3 times the revenue of a lesser club.Does it include Hawthorn's poker machine revenue etc etc

Having had to draft many agreements relating to revenue/profit sharing it's not easy. Once did a revenue sharing model for a takeover of some finance whiz kids' business. Looked fair but they came in doubled the staff upped the revenue by  around 50% but also of course doubled the expenses and eliminated the profit . Learnt a lesson from that one.

NFL teams do sneaky things like change the ownership of parking and food and beverages at the stadiums to different companies.

It’s useful to set a benchmark but big Nicho would have to be clever to make sure he put protections in. Not easy to do given the mess cricket fine themselves in.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
