I watched that thinking geez we had some serious talent in our side back then. Then I saw Simon Eishold at the end.

I was behind the goals at the outer end and it felt like the last 5 minutes of that game was played in that forward pocket, right next to the point post. That was a season where we won a lot of close ones I think. The running joke was that we never felt comfortable as supporters until there was less than a kick in it.

I used to love going to all of the away suburban grounds but gee Moorabbin was an absolute pig sty of a place.

Jakovich!!

I really miss these suburban grounds even if they were pigsty's. I was only a kid back then but it really did feel like entering enemy territory and gave some variety and a different experience week to week. MCG, Waverley, Windy Hill, Princes Park, Vic Park, Moorabbin, Western Oval. Great memories.

Magnificent

I think that was my last trip to Moorabbin, how sweet

If only Allen had kicked 100. Special moments in that 4 years

Ah sweet memories.  First time we I went with mates to the footy was at Moorabin. I was 15 or 16 & we got someone to buy us beer.

I recall Max Walker in the ruck & Graham Osborne playing well.

Yes he was mature age when he came to the dees, but to think he was only 23 years old during this season, playing with the tricks of a wiley old veteran and doing it his way. Absolute freak.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
