Elijah Taylor (Drafted by Sydney)

He's a beautiful kick and has incredible balance.

Different types of players but if Sydney Stack can go undrafted after some character concerns - possibly similar to EJ -  and then light up the comp across half back as an 18 year old then why can't EJ do the same?

If you're 188cm, skilled as can be and a bit inconsistent with forward pressure and ball winning then show me you can compete down back and stay in a game that way and I'll draft you. Similar to Frtisch, show some ability learning the game on a wing and half back and once you've matured and can handle physical defenders and off days and stay in the games then you'll be a gun forward.

That would be my first question to him. If he can't handle the half back flank he won't make it as a forward these days. All the talent in the world won't make it at AFL level if you don't have a defensive game or a hunger for the contest.

Alot of time for this kid.  The upside is huge.  One of the best goal hauls in the Nats with 6 and doesn't think twice before nailing them on either side.

Him and Henry teamed up for a few lovely goals.

185cm and probably still growing he could turn in to a lovely HF or wing.  Some of the moves on this kid, albeit not as consistent as say Henry and Weightman, are something to behold when he turns it on.

Would love to snag him.

Upside is huge but buyer needs to beware.

IMO most talented small forward but attitude and other issues need to be addressed

You must have some local intel PSD.  A change of location might be just the tonic?

I wouldn't necessarily be against selecting him, however you get the feeling that we might just go with best available with our final pick.  It seems like there is still some serious quality on the board for us to choose from, so I'm intrigued to see what we do with it.

With Kossie on board, and Bennell potentially waiting in the wings, we might feel like we don't need to select someone like Taylor.

Could be Jeff Farmer, but could easily be Clem Smith or Ash Sampi

A good number of clubs seem to have made the call to not even consider.

Hawks, Swans and the Dees seem to be three who would be willing to give him the chance. We may pass now that we have Kossie though (if Swans haven't already taken him at 28).

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
