I think the pressure might come off Richo a bit with the injury/illness issues giving him a let out. They just need to show they are up for the fight.

I think pressure this year will be on Bolton if Carlton still can't get on the scoreboard and win some games. The list is pretty good, the coach now needs to develop it. If they can't get 6/7 wins this season he's gone.

Hinkley is where the real pressure is. Port will be expecting finals and not just to make up the numbers either, they think they've got a shot and let it go last season. I don't think they're that good and reckon he's gone...

Whats with all the experts having Adelaide so high on the ladder, and a few of them even picking them for the flag?

They did not add any big recruits and Gibbs, Betts, Jenkins are all 30+ years of age now.  Walker and Sloane are past their best.   I have them missing the 8.

They have an easy draw and home ground advantage.

Just had the displeasure of listening to Brendan Goddard on the ABC. He is now a commentator for them - inarticulate, rambling, full of empty words - should fit in well.

True.  They are basically the interstate version of Geelong.

I can't see Adelaide winning the flag but I do think they will be up in the 8. As Demonland mentioned, due to their terrible year last year they have a great draw, similar to the one Collingwood had last year. On top of that they had a horror run with injuries last year and a lot of controversy around their leadership program. I don't know what they have done to address their leadership problems but they will at least get a starting midfield of the Crouch bros and Sloane back on the park and that is likely to be quite potent in the 6-6-6 setup. Add back in Brodie Smith running off half back and Seedsman on the wing and they go a long way to fixing up what was broken last year.

I don't like the culture at tAdelaide, the way they treat leavers (or should that be Levers) and the inability to keep talent is a real smell. Even with that I think they are set to correct from last years disaster.

brad crouch and smith are like new recruits for the crows, and walker was clearly hampered last year, and was jacobs

plus the whole camp fiasco clouded their entire year

i think they'll bounce straight back into the top 4 too

that list is quality

Agree they have a quality list and will bounce back.  Also hampered last year were Betts, Tahlia, Douglas and Sloane.  Adelaide won 12 last year and would have won 14 if they played GC and St Kilda twice like this year.  With an easy draw I can see them top 2.

Agree that they have a quality list but having said that I hope we play them in the Grand Final at the G.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
