It is all worth having Preuss and learning his craft off the great man. However l can see him in the distant future being our no 1 ruckman  when his turn comes and the  prospect of being a leading ruckman in the AFL.  It is not a big call as this boy can play. IMO

I can see him playing regularly.

'May have'? Our premiership drought credentials cannot be beaten, and that's a fact. Also, I don't care for their beginning a sentence with 'But'.

Just finished watching the inside Melbourne from a few episodes back, with Jason Taylor.  Right near the end of the episode he talks about how Kobe Farmer is one we will be keeping a bit of an eye on in future years and that his dad is pretty keen on him joining the MFC.  That would be a tantalizing addition to our list in future years, particularly when our access to top end tallent via the draft which hopefully is otherwise limited by higher home and away season finishes.

Well worth watching the episode.

Until then, we will hopefully enjoy  watching the Preuss / Gawn combination - the 'Prawn'.

Well worth watching the episode.

Fingers crossed Kobe chooses us over Freo & makes his dad & us happy.

Understandably with his footy pedigree so far, there will be things in the big fella to tailor, adjust, improve, develop, educate, transfer, augment, hone and many others from which further experience will dump in and on him. It is still a better heritage than that of Cox at the Filth. His enthusiasm is such that he may well be a fast learner now that he is among so many talents and positive vibes at the MFC; and additionally, in a place and Club where he wants to be after an uncertain baptism of what looks like disregard with Norf. My guess at this point is that he is going to be a tremendous player at the Dees - maybe even a standout player - and he does look like a team guy at this point, ever-useful onfield for his teammates, Those fortunate enough to be able to get to training sessions in this pre-season might comment on how he articulates and interacts onfield with the rest of the side; I am really looking forward to seeing and interpreting some of this during the JLT final warm-ups for the season in 2019.

Such an outcome is extremely important - obviously, Jeff Farmer thinks his son is going to be a good footballer, and that is pretty sound judgement in anyone's language. To encourage him to be at the Demons is another plus - displaying where Jeff's heart lies in relation to the footballing fraternity. Looking forward to the end of a long wait - when Kobe matures - for another Farmer in the red 'n blue.

Agree on the Weid and your namesake needs to also break out. Hoping Petracca can get to that next level. Him and the Weid along with proven performers up forward will create hell for the opposition.

Weid and Petracca could well hold a big part of our hopes next year, we are still yet to see Trac reach his potential and if he does it means the same difference as to what Martin did for Richmond. While Weid is going to have quite a bit more pressure on him next year to back up his last couple of H&A games plus his BOG performance vs Geelong. If he does though it gives us another marking presence to take the pressure off TMac. The big thing that impressed me about his return to the team was his 2nd and 3rd efforts, I think it was in the Geelong game that he made a mistake but absolutely smashed the Geelong player with a crunching tackle afterwards.

As for the media pumping us up, I must admit I don't like it. But it's time to accept where we are, we are a contender and that comes with added pressure.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
