Women have changed, just like the game is.

People and power, watta lousy mix...  aggressive power is a thing of ugliness.

Women have changed.....me too

"Melbourne will name Christian Petracca and Jesse Hogan and are confident the important duo will be fit to take on St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Sunday". ?

"The Demons are also planning on a return to AFL football for gun midfielder Jack Viney next week".

Not sure if the AFL fo JV is poetic license by the journo or was said by Goodwin.  Either way, looking good!

I agree.

I also think he's gotten ahead of himself. I get the impression he thinks/knows he's an A grader that will soon become elite, while in reality he's overall output is that of a B grader so far. For example, he's missed far too many shots for goal this year.

I like what he's produced so far, but do think he's overrated in context to his performances, especially to start this season.

I remember a host on either SEN or 3AW mentioned that Petracca was aiming to be a Hall of Fame player. That pricked my ears.

Lastly, I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel Salem is a bigger loss than Petracca (assuming he doesn't get up this week) for the time being. We'll miss Salem's solid ball use while Petracca's can be a bit hit and miss.

Just because the kid has a bit of swagger, you think he has got ahead of himself??

The kid is a star!

As I have, we all are, it's a time of change.  According to prophets...  each and every one of them.

I asked JV direct, he said another week of full training without a hiccup and he is ready to be selected

Has all the credentials of a future star, just looks like he’s cruising, hoping he doesn’t turn out to be another Sylvia. Still a kid so am patient but just noticing a few things that’s all. If Salem can ever get a decent run at it he’ll be very important for us, HBF is his position. Surprisingly goes pretty hard at it too.

According to the presser Goody is confident both Hogan an Petracca will play.

In -       Trac

Out -   Salem (inj)

ANB looks like he will get another reprieve, very lucky.  Unless we bring in Garlett for him but he doesnt deserve a call up.

Vince might be rested with the third game in 11-12 days

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
