Not sure I've heard of 'Venue Sponsors' but good on mfc for getting this.  Good discounts for members eating/drinking at their venues.

Seems like thanks go to David Neitz: The partnership announcement comes off the back of The Sporting Globe’s existing relationship with David Neitz and his ‘Brewmanity’ campaign, helping raise money for Cure for MND Foundation.

And I like this: “With The Sporting Globe’s growing presence in Victoria and interstate, we think that the partnership allows Melbourne fans a perfect place to watch home and away games live with other supporters.”   Its the next best thing to being at the game as the Bentleigh Club just doesn't cut it anymore.

Its also good to consolidate our support for Neil Daniher and the MND Campaign.

I was at the Bridge Rd venue on Saturday night after a birthday party and the discount would have helped a great deal on that night, absolutely loved the venue and will be definitely going back. The only downside albeit a minor one was the closing time of 1am just when everyone was having a good night. Each booth had a TV screen with many options of sport viewing.

We've been to the Bridge Rd venue a couple of times now.

Last time our order was messed up but the management went over and above to sort it out.

I couldn't speak more highly of the manager on duty.

Must also say the pub food is good and the beer fresh & cold.

I think you can tell a good venue by it's management and it's willingness to sort out issues as they arise.

We will be back again and now we have an extra reason.

The Sporting Globe is a great pub on Bridge Rd, Richmond opposite the Town Hall & not too far from the MCG. I haven't been to any of the others but the one in Richmond is very well run, great menu & a great selection of beers on tap or otherwise. I'm very happy with this partnership 20% Food/Drinks valued over $20 is a ripping deal for MFC members!

Shareholder?

I seriously could not be happier about this. Sporting Globe is by far my most favourite place to eat. Cant go wrong with a dozen buffalo wings and a rack of BBQ ribs

Contrary to its name, this Sporting Globe mob doesn't seem to have much to offer for overseas-based members.

Love the local sporting globe.  The only issue is you won't be catching any footy if the ufc is on. The sporting globe attracts every man and his dog for the ufc which is on nearly every screen.

With Hogan and lewis' antics perhaps we are the most aggressive show in town anyway...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
