What do we all like in the Makybe Diva Stakes tomorrow?

Thunderstruck is very short odds and it's best wins but ... I'm giving Western Empire another chance (8.50 with a boost)

Good race, all the same with 6 winning chances out of the 8 runners.  And they can all get into the finish

Tactics will be interesting in this one Macca, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of pace in the race. Not sure who leads.

Thunderstruck gets Alligator right on the line.  It was always the more likely outcome and it went true to form

They'll clash again no doubt

The others never threatened including my choice - Western Empire (who was outclassed)

Thunderstruck was very good, Alligator blood unlucky in the end.

I’ve been overseas for all of Aug so not been on the punt much, had a little today but was putrid.

Time honoured Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes tomorrow

Boom horse 'I Wish I Win' is the favourite but needs 2 from the field to scratch to get a run!!

With the rain about that might happen

Very open race, all the same.  One for the exotics

Incredibly tough race this year Macca. Thrown a bonus bet on Showmanship.

I've had a wide exacta as I'm not at all confident of landing the trifecta!!  F4 could pay anything!

Just got Pride of Jenni up so a decent start, DZ

Anamoe & Nature Strip should both win I've gone for some value with trifecta's with both those feature races

Anything that you like today? (mozz factor de-activated)

Good work. Have Anamoe one out in the Sydney quad and a multi going Macca. Aft Cabin/Nature Strip/Sixbysixtythree.
Pretty much my picks for the day.

Anamoe, Nature Strip & Aft Cabin all duly salute ... got the NS tri (paid well) and had Aft Cabin with Smokin (pl) in a 2-race double

Decent day so far!  (lean winter though!)

@Dee Zephyr @Wadda We Sing @JV7 @Gorgoroth

3 big Group 1 races this week at different courses on 3 different days!

Big day of racing coming up on Saturday ... Guineas Day at Caulfield features 10 Stakes races including the Toorak Hcp, The Guineas, Schillaci Stakes & the Might and Power

Up in Sydney they've got 6 Stakes races including the Silver Eagle

There are a stack of favourites that will be well supported but they can't all win!  Or can they?

If I had to single out 3 they'd be 'I Wish I Win' in the Toorak, 'Anamoe' in the Might and Power and 'Polly Grey' in Angst Stakes

Multi's will the theme for the day for me

Good luck punters!!

I haven’t been on the punt as much for a while but sort of keeping my eye in (and doing terribly 😂)

Polly Grey is a absolute fav of mine and should run a good race, but I can’t see them running it, it’s a H10 now with a ton of rain expected.

Open Minded in the 2nd at Caulfield at $20 is one I’ll keep an eye on.

Meridus in the big race is a roughy I like but Golden Mile should win there.

Anomoe should win, but with the rain coming in Mr brightside at $16 might be worth including in any tri/f4 bets

Yep, you're right, there's a good chance Randwick will be cancelled, Gorg

Still, the 10 race card at Caulfield is an absolute beauty!

Might try to find a few value bets at Morphettville and/or Eagle Farm to fill in the gaps!

At this rate we could easily be on a H8+ tomorrow at Caulfield

Mate it’s a heavy 35 at my place, my chooks need to become ducks and I need a boat not a car to get down my driveway, don’t even try and walk in the back paddock or the swamp as it’s been for the last month

Well here in palatial Kew we've got plenty of run-off for all the water deluging down!

The council are controlled by the old money and the high end legal fraternity! haha

I have 40,000lt worth of tanks and they are overflowing

And Sydney has already set a record for the amount of rain they've had in a year (with 3 months to go!)

Us punters should know as when we bet on the Sydney races, the tracks are nearly always heavy ... been that way for at least 2-3 years

Good luck with your water tanks, Gorg!

Soft 7 at the moment, doesn’t look like rain for the day so shouldn’t drop to a heavy but prob won’t get to a good either. I won’t be able to listen or watch the races as I’m out so will need to decide, put them on before I leave and hope 😂

I know how good Anamoe but I have this feeling the Mo'unga is going to spoil the party. Brilliant field and the outsider Nonconformist loves the track, distance and conditions. I can make a case for every horse except the bottom one. Maybe I should back the bottom one.

I too like nonconformist. Not sure it will win but all seems in its favour to make a good fist of it.

See that new Betting mob BetR "owned by Murdoch so I wont be going near them" Is offering 101 to 1 on any horse in the Melbourne Cup. You can only put ten on and have to bet before Derby day buy if you believe you have the winner. $10 would get you a thousand. No doubt you would have to turn your winnings over again before you can collect.

Anamoe!! What a horse!  Ridden a treat by J-Mac.  I'm Thunderstruck & Zaaki very brave

Skinny odds was Anamoe but perfect for the multi's

Hot favourite for the Cox Plate now you'd imagine

And the Randwick meeting has been called off

Had a few live multi's going too!  Can't complain though as I'm way in front today

They've pencilled in Monday for the remaining 3 stakes races but where?  They'd be lucky to find a track that isn't heavy

The Paulele/Anamoe double was great value at $5…should have thrown in Sydney races getting abandoned half way through the card at $1.20 for a little extra value 😀

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
