Quite like Nights Watch Macca. I was lucky enough to see the original Rembrandt in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam last year. It is a seriously huge massive painting and of course stunning.

Good luck with our picks!

What a small world we live in Wadda

I've got a  Giclée print of Rembrandts 'Night Watch' along with a number of other Giclee prints of various works of art ... I usually go to AllPosters who are quite reliable in terms of quality.

In fact,  the quality is often quite amazing with Giclee prints ... got a few Vermeer,  Brueghel,  Caravaggio,  Van Gogh,  Renoir et al.  They are a tad less expensive than the real thing (ha ha) but with the right sort of lighting and framing,  the prints often look like the real thing.

Thats really great Macca. I had not really heard of Giclee until now? Thanks for that link. They must be an outstanding quality. Might have a look at some AllPosters stuff. I literally forget sometimes about online shopping. Its a bit of a cultural desert up here.

Pity about Ozzie, looks like he got a bit caught on the fence, but beaten by a good horse in the end. 3 seconds in a row.

Although i missed the race i did mention that Divanation was going around Caulfield in race 2. Its the first time the 4 yo mare has stepped up to 2000 in her 5 starts and came 2nd paying 4.30. Out of All to Hard and Makybe Diva its form is now 12X312. Is this the horse weve been waiting for? The other Diva prodigy have not done much i believe. Might pay to keep an eye on this one.

I've got about 8 really good prints but did have to send one back one time (quality average but got a full refund) ... and that was a ways back Wadda.  The prices have come down a bit and getting a canvas print is a good option too.

I believe there is now a 'super' giclee option available but it's great fun perusing ... I know a couple of people who frame paintings and prints so I have previously just ordered the giclee prints on their own.

'All posters' have got just about everything but there are probably a number of online print companies ... but if you do order anything giclee,  start off inexpensive as a test case or 2.

By the way,  JJ has got me 3 winners today (so far) including Meli Melo in the 7th at Oakbank - got the exacta as well so a happy lad here mate!

In the light of the most recent event (another shocking loss) ...I might just stick around at ADATR for the winter! (or at least the MB thread)

I mean,  at least we've got a bit of control of the happenings at the races & multi's.  As a mere onlooker with the footy,  the sharp pain just continues to be quite prevalent.

Pays to broaden your horizons as a demons fan ... I started doing so in the late 70's!

I was in the Cheer Squad in the mid seventies Macca, and used to make the banners and take them in on the train. Saw it all first hand every Saturday afternoon from Bay 13, for many a long year. Its very ingrown. Broaden away!

Wow. All I can hear in here is crickets. No probs. Big mail on a roughie first up in Brisbane. I’ll hang on to it then! I have backed it at $34 but it’s in to $21 now.

Not sure what your talking about? We are having a spell in the paddock after a big Autumn. Feel free to post though as we always check in from time to time, anything you post will be read. Not sure mystery posts are the way to go. Good luck with your pick.

I will always have a go at any good mail anyway.

Go Widgee Turf!

A few feature races on the weekend and a few from Overseas as well

In Oz there's the Robert Sangster (TAB Stakes) from Morphettville and the Hollindale Stakes from the Gold Coast

Overseas sees the 2000 Guineas & the 1000 Guineas from Newmarket and the Kentucky Derby will be run on Sunday morning (from 8.30am)

All 5 feature events are good betting races.

Best Bet

Randwick Race 7 No.9  Deprive  $2.15

A bit short but should win

My other big watch is 'Kolding' in the QLD Guineas at Eagle Farm (Race 5) ... set a track record 2 weeks ago at Randwick but it is also on the short side ($2.60)

As for the Stradbroke ... I'm having a First4 on the race and I will definitely be including 'Widgee Turf' ($15 the win & $3.80 the place) on top with a few others ... has run some excellent times at the 1400m and has a 12: 4-5-2 record over the journey as well.  Needs a good run from the 16 gate but can storm home.

Best Bet

Flemington Race 4 Number 7 Leiter $2.90

Fought on well after being wide the trip last start.

Also trying my luck with the exotics in the Stradbroke, will be including Deploy (12) $23 and $7.

Tend to agree on Widgee Macca. Was on it last race so no need to get off.

Dare I say it ... very confident with those 3 Wadda.  A good dividend too at 22-1

Widgee winning offers 90-1 all-up.  Worth a one coffee outlay ?

Love the one coffee outlay Macca. I recently discovered a new coffee brand i like at Coles, so instead of going to the local coffee shop i can use that on more exotic outlays such as ours.

Yes you can dare say it! :)

I've done really well following free tips on Victorian provincial meetings  on justhorseracing.com.au.

Not so good on metropolitan meetings.

Nice one Bingers. Feel free to post any tips you get here no matter where you get them from. We are currently having a spell in the paddock from our weekly Best Bets. We should be back early in the Spring. But any tips are always welcome. Thanks for your contribution.

Last Group 1 of the season at Eagle Farm on Saturday (Tatts Tiara Race 8 ) ... a good betting race too.  In fact the 4 feature events (Races 6,  7,  8 & 9) are all good betting races by the looks of it.  Go to Racenet.com for more details.

And the first day of the Ascot carnival was raced overnight.  'Blue Point' won the feature sprint in impressive style and the connections (Godolphin/Charlie Appleby) may well be eyeing off the Everest in the Spring.  The horse is a fine sprinter with an excellent record so it racing in the Everest would add a lot to the race

Lord Glitters won the Queen Anne Stakes whilst Circus Maximus won the St James's' Palace Stakes.  Replays can be found on youtube or Tab.com.au

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
