GC had a list full of tallented youngsters recruited 1 superstar and a heap of so-so middle aged players and hoped for the best.

GWS had a list full of tallented youngsters recuited a plethora of ageing player/coaches to work with them on the field.

Melbourne has a list full of tallented youngsters and has a decision to make. I know which blueprint I would follow.

Certainly not that dread & blue print.

I want the mentor way to help these kids stay on the road to winning flags.

Talent is not enough, once talent has entered the building, its finished & then the mind starts the winning or losing ways.  Leave your ego's at the door, & pick them up on the way out. cleaned & folded.

Not either of those.

Neither would work with where we sit at the moment. We're not establishing a club from scratch and we have already passed the stage where those 2 clubs were when they made these decisions.

Thompson is set to earn a new 1 year deal with the Crows.

Bit late but thought I'd link to this interview the 5aa boys did with Goodwin last week...

Goodwin pretty much said that he has spoken to Thommo in the past about a coaching role only.... Not as a player...

Will get one last year at the FruitLoopz

I thought he had to go home to Adelaide to be with family? But he's happy to leave family to coach? [censored]. Ah well. I'll try not to be bitter. :P

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
