It reminds me of split pea soup.

I just don't get what split pea soup has to do with anything.

Probably a reference to Hawthorn. Their jumper still looks like skid marks in yellow jocks.

Makes  me feel like smoking.

it appears brown, on my screen.

Our government is wasting $ to work out this [censored]??? Surely they could just have looked at the hawks and come up with that....

From the article, referring to the upcoming colour being used on cigarette packaging:

The federal government initially referred to the murky hue as ‘‘olive green’’. That was until the Australian Olive Association wrote to Health Minister Nicola Roxon, urging her to stopusing the term because it was denigrating the olive brand.

That article is actually from 2012. I don't think it eventuated from what I've noticed (I don't smoke so I don't really look at the packaging).

Very unappealing colour though.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
