3-3 & 9th

We weren't at our best yesterday, that's clear. However, wholesale changes aren't required.

Put aside round 2, we have beaten 3 out of the 4 teams at our level and just lost to a 6-0 team in Tasmania. I looked at pies, Tigers and saints.. And thought 2 wins would be a great result.

That is a massive improvement and  from my point of view, just above par for the group.

Next 3 we have GC, Dogs, Lions.

2 out of the 3 would be a great result. 5-4 at round 9.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water with an average performance yesterday. We are improving and yet to really click.

Back off TMAC too, he was awesome in the majority of games this year too

GC and Dogs are both very tough matches. GC will bounce back next week, mark my words.

I think 2-1 is achievable, but imo it's more likely to come from Dogs and Lions than GC and Lions, or GC and Dogs.

No coincidence that when Tom Mc plays like crap, we get thumped. Essendon he was smashed by Joe Daniher, then he got smashed by Reiwoldt yesterday. Our two worst games of the year are his two worst games.

he didn't get smashed by riewoldt, he just never went anywhere near him :o

All this bashing of the defence is ridiculous. This is the system we are playing and it relies on intensity around the ball and sticking tackles. The boys looked really tired from the opening bounce and our press then became a liability. I think it's a credit to our recruiting in recent years that we were able to hang in there while playing with little energy.

So yeah, I agree with the op.

Err no he hasn't..

We are still in the hunt, no doubt. Goes without saying the Gold Coast game is huge as far as staying in touch with the top half of the ladder.

Agree with this - plus we beat GWS who have beaten Geelong and Hawthorn.

Stinkers like yesterday are annoying but at least they are becoming less frequent (1 in 3 instead of 2 in 3 haha).

I don't rate GC - I reckon we'll [censored] em next week.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
