Melbourne supporters are fickle and given our more recent history, it makes even more sense that we'd see a great turn-out after a really exciting start to a year that has a sense of real unpredictability because of the talent we now have.

So I don't really think it's ridiculous for someone to think that 30,000 Melbourne supporters would turn up to 'our' home ground on a traditional Saturday 2.10 pm game against a side who have bullied us for years. I'll say it again, but Easter weekend is always going to mean there will be less supporters at games. 

25,000 + Melbourne supporters will be there on Saturday. That's a minimum.

Definitely think 20 000 is a realistic (if not slightly conservative) and achievable figure. That would mean at least half of members, not to mention other supporters, attending.

We averaged 25k total for home games last year. Total.

Stuie, that was last year. People are a heck of a lot more optimistic this year. You keep talking about 'fill-ins' (I believe you called them scabs in an earlier post?), but what you seem to not acknowledge is that is what is feeding the belief (rightly or wrongly) that the Dees will unleash a world of pain and hurt on Essendon. In addition to the other factors mentioned in this thread, that is why people want to go. They want to see another team on the receiving end of what we suffered for so many years.

a) nice attempt to blatently lie, but in 2015 the bombers crowds ave 41k vs our ave 30k. Factoring in our horrific shceduling, that's pretty much a wash. It certainly isn't double as you say, double being half of 4x, which is your argument.
b) memberships ess 61k vs mel 36k. Have you got your calculator out? Here's a hint, 4 times 36 is 144.
c) that chart might be the dumbest thing i've seen this year. SYDNEY is by far the most supported club eh? They have 6 times the supporters as us but only 49k members. Right. You've shown us a chart of who has the most fickle, non-attending, non-paying mebers, and guess what they won't be at the MCG this weekend.
