Jayden has my vote for Pick 3.

Tall mid forward, silk, run and goes all day...

He's outside attributes are very attractive.

All I want to know when it comes to Laverde is whether or not he has the desire to fight nail and tooth to win the ball when it's there to be won.

If he does, then I'll be happy with the pick.

I want all of our picks to have that desire. That competitive streak. It's we're we've fallen down in the past.

Even JKH standing at 174 or so cm doesn't shy away when the ball is there to be won.

It needs to be inherent in their game before they come to our club.

Yeah good post.

We need competitive beasts. JKH is a good example of that. Watts, Morton, Cook etc lacked it big time.

Give me a competitor like Jack Frost (and hopefully his brother is the same). Langford at the hawks shows competitiveness can outlast other skilful attributes. Jetta for us has shown that. he competes. he loves the clinches !!

We have to rely on our new recruiters who can pick players with ability and heart. underline heart.

Jayden's profile and highlight tape are up on the MFC and AFL sites. And it is not too shabby

Understatement. Highlight tape or not (sorry Bossdog :) ), he looks the serious goods.

Don't know much about this kid, but I think I read somewhere however he only gets the pill a dozen or so times a game and is clearly an outside runner.

Reminds me of another Sam Blease and thats not good to me.

I don't proclaim to know much about this kid but credit where credit is due. If you look at him as a pure footballer, his highlight clips represent a type of player for what MFC need.

He may not get a lot of the ball but when he does it's actually really well used. He demonstrates confidence in his ability and sound composure. Wish we could say the same for similar players in our best 22 who only get 10-15 touches a games and fluff a significant proportion of them.

It's a thought provoking avenue this to consider someone like Jayden. Could he be trained into a go-getter type midfielder role? Of course he can.

Is he what our list needs? He's certainly up there for consideration.

Tough job those picking the No 3 selection.

I have greater trust whichever way MFC go with this one at the moment.

I have this awful feeling in my gut that he will go to Collingwood at ND6 and in three years will be a quicker version of Sidebottom...
