2014 Player Review - # 1 Jesse Hogan

Melbourne's great young key forward hope spent most of the season coping with a back injury that kept him down to one NAB Challenge match (played in Alice Springs) and a VFL game against the Bulldogs out at Craigieburn.

We're all hoping that he will finally get to play in front of bigger crowds when he makes his long awaited AFL debut early next year.

Anyone know what level we got him to this year on XBOX?

I still have faith that we have the makings:

Howe hogan jkh

watts dawes kent

throw pedo, bernie, salem, trengove through there as well and it becomes a matter of delivery

not a bad looking forward line if we can get them all up and running. Reckon JKH showed some good signs by going back to Casey and putting in a couple of top games there. signs of a good attitude. most are pretty good kicks as well.

Nothing wrong with using Fitzy in the forward line either following another pre-season under Roos.

Not much chop too be honest.

On a side note, I was driving to Dynamic Tattoo to have my sleeve finished on a Friday afternoon when I noticed this monster of a bloke walking on the footpath opposite Punt Road Oval... It was Jessie Hogan wearing an old school Collingwood beanie, the ones with the pompom on top!

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
