Great news - would have liked a little longer, but good enough for now.

PJ: Everything I've seen in the last 16 months has convinced me this club can be great again and fundamentally that's why I've signed on.

at least we have a sensible person in that position now.

Agree just wish we could get a longer term commitment! Too much talk of succession planning with him and Roosey but I will take the 12 months extension.

I don't mind the year extension.
I always have viewed him a bit like that Winston Wolf character from Pulp Fiction. He is a cleaner.
I don't want PJ to become one of the inmates at the Melbourne asylum. He always needs to keep that dispassionate attitude in that he is here to do a job and when the job is done, it's time to move on. Too many blokes at the MFC become entrenched and get stuck in the cycle of cronyism and conservatism.

the timing may have had to do with the AFL's CEO handover, & the direction the new CEO & Commission wanted to go. after they set that business, eventually they would get to Us. And how they see our direction for the next 3 yrs, within the AFL sphere.

I have no doubt that both Roos & PJ are here because the AFL want it to be. & both are happy to oblige.

Now we have had a full season to get the thing running along, however roughly, we should now see them ring in the changes.

This could well be our most important Off-Season EVER.
