WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA

That's what I like about Harry, he doesn't buy into the group think.

The rest of the league is scared of Hall and Brown, but Lumumba just isn't seeing it, and both Hall and Brown backed down once they seen Harry wasn't intimidated.

Barry Hall and John Brown are cut from a completely different cloth to a guy like Wayne Carey, Ablett Jr.

Hall and Brown are all puff and bluff when it comes to throwing down, wheras Ablett and Carey would throw down, could throw down - and didn't care who it was.

I knew Barry Hall was never going to get in the boxing ring. He'd of been pressured to fight someone who hit back - and not blokes like Staker who aren't looking.

At the age of 12 Hall moved to Melbourne to pursue a boxing career.[2] Training out of a makeshift boxing gym (his father's garage), he won a state title in his early teenage years and had fought in 15 fights by the age of 15.[3]

There's a reason players where intimidated by hall..... You couldn't be further from the mark

Obviously not, and I have since-in this thread- recanted that view. I can't remember too much opposition to that view, at that time though.

Not only that, there was more vitriolic nonsense than your "dead set tool douch (sic)" accusation.

Have a read through, then have a shower...

But that original "deadset douch" post did get 16 "likes".

And in the early pages of this thread, there were many similar expressions used by other posters.

Sweet Dee wasn't the only one by any means.

Don't let facts ruin a stupid opinion!

Lol. I'd walk away from the game if we recruit this tool. Deadset douch

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Btw, what exactly is a Heretier Lumumba?

Don't let facts get in the way of a good argument...!

Damn I am looking forward to some humble pie!

The big H will be good for the MFC, whatever his name is. La Bamba?

I'm looking forward to seeing him play in the red and blue, I hope he does a few post match press conferences as well. Might make them easier to listen to.

yeah he does. How big a deal do we make about it. I mean he will be running out having not played a senior game yet. Do we just stick it on the banner and say yep 200 games is a good milestone.

Anyway im looking forward to seeing what he brings to our backline. At least he is a runner so we may get it out of the 50 quicker.

How about we win Round 1 for a change .... that would be a pretty good celebration of the 200 and his first game with us (provided he is in the team ... not injured etc)

Right...

I think I know who's all puff and bluff here...

Jonno Brown really was puff and bluff - if only he showed some heart and aggression at the man and contest he could have been an ok footballer.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.
