He pulled up sore last week.

Cue MFCSS...

Back related?

I believe it was reported elsewhere that he was feeling sore after his first game last week and the club decided not to risk him.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens at Casey today because with all of our big blokes in the Melbourne team and no Jesse Hogan in today's team, they're going to be undermanned. I can just see KC complaining about the team going sideways all day. It will be interesting to see their score.

Is Hogan just sore from his first hit out for the year, or has his back pulled up sore? Or is it both?

Casey won the toss (yay!) - kicking with the slight-moderate breeze.

Toump, JKH, Riley, Barry all in the midfield / centreline. Surely we can win the clearances???!!

How long has Casey radio existed? I feel I've been missing out all year.

From what I am hearing our kicking skills are still woeful but a lot of turn-overs are coming from the Casey players rather than the Demons.

Blease has done a couple of nice things, King seems to be the main target (although not clunking any), Tappy just hit the post.

I've heard Toumpas and Terlich quite a bit so far.

Kenedy-Harris hobbling off (ankle) in the hands of trainers and Tappy (concussion? back?) in the hands of trainers as well. Update when I hear.

JKH went down with an ankle. Didn't look like he twisted it but had to be helped from the ground. Maybe a clip from opponents boot to the front of the ankle.

Best crummed first goal from a Barry inside 50. Having trouble with our last kick inside 50.

JKH now running the boundary line for a test. Looks proppy but much better than it might have been.

Best crummed first goal from a Barry inside 50. Having trouble with our last kick inside 50.

Just like in the seniors.

Scorps in a bit of disarray and gives up the lead to a Coburg goal.

Just like in the seniors part 2

Welsh - we need to be cleaner, we need to go the easy option than the hard option, we need to be harder, Improvement: composure, work hard to keep possession, keep it inside 50 with our pressure, give our forwards more of a chance.

Riley 10 disp 3 tackles

Terlich 8 & 1

Clisby 6 & 2

JKH 6 & 1

McKenzie 6 & 1

Toumpas 6 & 1

Blease 4

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
