Shane Biggs

Again Biggs was one of the BOG's over the weekend. I'm certainly impressed with this young blokes numbers who should be approaching his prime within ~2 years as apposed to O'Keefe who has left/ leaving his.

Round 17 stats:

Biggs: 1 goal 0 behind, 41 disposals, 28 kicks, 13 handballs, 6 marks, 6 tackles, 0 HO, 0 FF, 0 FA, 3 I50, 10 R50.

O'Keefe: 2 goal 2 behinds, 35 disposals, 22 kicks, 13 handballs, 4 marks, 3 tackles, 1 HO, 1 FF, 2 FA, 3 I50, 4 R50.

T.Mitchell did not play.

NOTE: Round 16 was a bye.

You really can't take anything out of NEAFL performances or stats. If he is any good Roos and Stone will know.

He's played a few games so not a debut but he looks good today.

Ah stand corrected, first game for the year perhaps.

Reported on AFL Trades Facebook

Sydney's Shane Biggs has requested a trade back to Victoria according to 1116 SEN.

Biggs has managed just six games in two years but played in two finals in 2013. The running defender averaged 26 possessions per game in the NEAFL and is reportedly looking to secure a return to a Victorian based team for more opportunity.

I must say I was shattered today to see Biggs & pick 39 from Sydney go to the dogs for pick 37.

That was practically a freeby.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
