Only 6 games (terrible bloody bye rounds idea) but enough to keep some interest.

Hawks and Swans could be a cracker if it's anything like last year's Round 23 - Hawks with some out and Swans with some costly ins (get it?).

Power get another chance to underline their credentials and I think may have the goods against the Dockers but it's also exactly the sort of game that Freo have lifted for in the recent past.

Brisbane have had the wood over Essendon up there and hopefully do again but I won't expect it.

Dees with a chance for two straight and I'm strangely confident. Dogs don't love the G and we have some confidence. We'll need to take our chances.

Eagles will thrash GWS and Carlton St Kilda should be a dull 28 point Blues win...

Overall hard to get excited about 6 games but potentially for 3 very close games.

Hard to get excited about 6 games you suggest, it was good enough for many a footy fan for almost a century.

Moreover the whole bloody thing was over in less than three hours on a Saturday arvo.

A 6-fold Multi can still provide plenty of value.

True, or I could treat it as an exercise in microeconomic theory and ponder on the relative incomes of Scully and Kelly, their productive capacities and whether there's a correlation between the amount of calories consumed by their respective parents during the working week. What channel's the game on?

Sydney over Hawthorn was huge for the season - their start to the year was slow, but as the players come back in Sydney is returning to premiership threat.

Hawthorn has a pretty easy draw from here, but their next game is in Adelaide against Port. Lose that and they'll be two games behind the Power, and I don't think any side wants to play a final in Adelaide this year.

Fremantle's best is good enough, but where has it gone? Round 1 was their peak so far this year, and they're nowhere near that at the moment. No Walters is killing them up forward.

Edit: hadn't considered how tough Fremantle's draw has been - they've only played finals contenders so far. Geelong next week too, but after the bye they have Bulldogs, Adelaide, Richmond, Brisbane, West Coast, Melbourne, GWS, St Kilda, Carlton. Should be able to get back on track with that stretch.

North is a huge tease; they can beat the best, but they don't show up every week.

Gold Coast is flying under the radar; their next three games are St Kilda, the Bulldogs and Adelaide. They could easily be 8-2 or 7-3 after 10, which is a great platform to shoot for the top 8 (their following five games are Sydney, West Coast, Geelong, Hawthorn and Collingwood though, so it also could unravel).
