The Pre Season Draft

The PSD is quickly becoming irrelevant an I expect there to be only a couple of players picked on the 27th if any.

According to the 'passes' in the ND the following clubs have Primary List spots available: GWS (5), Syd (2), Carl (2), Rich (2), and Coll (1).

Most of those clubs will only have 38 players on their primary list because of salary cap pressures: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-11-22/swans-38player-strategy

The order at this stage (this will change with any more deletions): GWS, Coll, Rich, Carl, Syd, GWS, Rich, Carl, Syd, GWS, GWS, GWS.

It will be interesting to see how relevant the PSD is come this Wednesday...

I would delist Nicholson and rookie him and open up the 2nd PSD pick, which is now the first live one, with GWS having declared their pick.

I would be shocked if there isn't a better player available out there, better than Nicholson.

Who did GWS declare?

Who did GWS declare?

Jed Lamb from Sydney

Also interesting to see Sydney's current list strategy of only using 38 senior list spots, and having extra rookies.

Offers them some flexibility, and potential cap relief.

Matt Sully MUST be our PSD or first rookie selection. If FRAWLEY or MCDONALD go down, we have no cover !! (Pedersen only, and he makes me nervous).

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
