My slight preference would be for him to stay, but I have very little care factor.

Although he owes the club big time to pull his finger out, imo.,

If he is going to be a star (big if) it won't be at this club. He needs to go or be average his whole career. Look what Ablett is doing for the Suns.

So saying that I hope we get something for him.

Quite Frankly, withe all fit, as things stand he is behind Dawes, Clark, Hogan, Fitzy and Howe for a spot in the forward line.

That and we may get Boyd next year, but regardless of Boyd, would trade for a good midfielder without too much hesitation.

he lost me today

all his bad attributes on display

a trade for a decent mid would be ok with me

I dont entirely disagree but ablett is a different story all together. He was nothing short of the leagues finest when he was traded to gold coast. Since then he has just further proven he is a great player and easily the best player in the comp atm

wouldn't bother me either way. at best is a b grade footballer who puts in 100% effort when he wants

I think he has the potential to be a good player, i think we should try our best to hang onto him, and if he just wants to leave make sure we adress our needs Via a trade

Sylvia has potential too

Yes, he certainly does, i think he has a big role to play in us getting better on field, more so than watts nearly.

Alright..... That one went through to the keeper, not to worry as it was Haddin and he missed it too.

Sorry mate, working off three hours sleep haha.

I'd ideally package Watts, Sylvia & Frawley together as trade. See what's offered.

Of course that won't happen but there's always other ways to cut the pack.

We're at ground zero...nothing lost except more of the same.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
