Melbourne has moved on from Roos

Featured Replies

Roos will not coach Melbourne, and Melbourne has moved on from Roos.

I think Craig is odds on to get the job, although I think it might be a mistake.

Disagree on that one, i think he will coach us, i'd be guessing his odds would be sitting around 50% at the minute, but this is a bloke who ( reading between the lines abit here ) probably wouldn't mind coaching again, he isn't jumping out of his seat to do it but he is looking at his options,

we have a huge AFL backed offer for him, we aren't as bad as many people think and turning us around would be worth as much as a flag in terms of respect, so i think we have a pretty strong case,

having said that if our bid for Paul does happen to fail, i think Eade, Craig and Choco get a sniff then, remember of the four big name coaches, Eade is the only one who has said publicly that he actually wants to coach again...

On the subject of airlines, I'm off to Fiji on the weekend and I heard the airport has once again raised parking fees. So this time I thought I might support a competitor instead. I checked the Airports website and for the 8 days for what it was going to cost me - around $120. I then noticed this Get a Quote section, I never normally would type it in but I thought why not - Spat out this "supersaver deal" that if you prebook on line I could get it for $69.

Btw, I'm not a Tighta+#e - I just hate paying those pricks soooo much money to park in a glorified paddock!!!

Ps. I'm bored....

Short list contender for most irrelevant post in the history of DL. Absolute GOLD.

Why is Choco second best?

l think the same, I reckon Choco is the number 1 choice or should be

Your guessing the odds of Roos coaching us are 50%

Haha

For me he is a close second to Roos, they have similar sorts of records, but Roos had a hand in the great culture at the swans and that is exactly what we want/need, having said that if it were announced tomorrow we were going to be coached by any of the big four, Roos, choco, eade or craig i would not be at all unhappy with any of the above and i am very confident we will get one of them.

I appreciate the culture aspect but the players have to accept some responsibility as well. Roos did a great job installing values into his team, but then the players took it and ran with it. If Roos was suddenly interested I think he should have to sit before the coaching panel and explain other things such as game plan. Next year we have the makings of a bloody good forward line. Yes our midfield is a weakness but we need to get the ball in there quickly not hug the bloody boundary line.

Neil Craig won't be our next coach after last week and this week.

Bad selections, bad moves, bad game plan.

Effort is unquestioned. Everything else under him is still miles from being acceptable.

Roos is the only man who can change this sorry club.

Like RDB did to the Swans in the 90's.

We must get Roos. The players do not care right now.

The previous 6 years has killed the spirit.

He's here at my place. Cooked him a ripper fat steak and got rid of a few brewskis whilst trying to convince him to take on the top job.

All he's giving me is "not at the moment," whatever that means...

All he's been giving me is "I'm not interested in coaching...just yet."

The list shortens.

You can add crap effort to the list now too.

Gone.

Next.

I think we have to stop looking for saviours, WYL. Having said that, I think Roos and Williams are the best choices to dig us out of this mire. Williams clearly wants to coach again. If Roos says no, go with Williams. I still firmly believe Roos will be/is coming though.

Craig's in a tough position, but has shown that he is only marginally better than Neeld. That says it all really.

i am not looking for saviors. This club is very sick.

Williams is not the man to fix this club.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
