Changes Next Week v Western Bulldogs

Featured Replies

That's bull, dropped some sitters and laughed about one of them, good at presenting but needs to hold his marks and make the most of the few opportunities he gets

I thought kicking 2 goals 2 from limited opportunities was a decent result. Yeah he should have marked that one in the pocket, and he knew it, but he was certainly one our better players and has been the last few weeks.

Ins: Frawley - Gawn - Jetta

Outs: Spencer (susp) - Pederson - Nicho

FB: Terlich - Frawley - Dunn

HB: Garland - McDonald - Clisby

C: Trengove - Sylvia - Toumpas

HF: Watts - Dawes - Howe

FF: Davey - Gawn - Byrnes

R: Fitzpatrick - N.Jones - M.Jones

I: Blease - Jetta - Rodan

S: Kent

This is what I would go with personally, we don't need wholesale changes but it gets the right people in IMO. If Jamar is ready to go then perhaps Gawn will be stiff to miss out, but I think Fitzy is starting to get a bit of confidence so I'd like to keep playing him. Wouldn't say no to Jamar playing for Casey for a week to earn his spot.

I saw Jamar at the G on Saturday night with crutches and a very large supporting frame around his (left) lower foot area (bit like those butterfly devises put around thumbs needing support). With my vast medical knowledge can add nothing more as to his prospects of playing but would not be holding my breath

My take on Watts game was that although statistically it wasn't a massive game, I saw more of the things I wanted to see from him in terms of aggression etc. He has had 20+ possession games in the past that have been awful and full of cheapies.

If he plays at that level each week, Saturday's performance would become a baseline and we would see dramatic improvement.

OUT: Spencer (suspended) Pedersen Dunn

IN: Gawn Frawley Jetta

Magner before Jetta.

Magner before Jetta.

also Dunn is finished, don't play him again, make's too many mistakes. Has been at the club for years and is still crap, the same can be said for Jamar.

I am not even close to a fan of Dunns but he was far from our worst on the weekend.

As long as Jamar doesn't come in and Gawn does I'll be happy.

Right on GTG Jamar forces us to play his style of game Its been no good for too long Time to go big Fella You are done

Give the Gawnster and Spence some game time for the rest of the season

I can't believe evryone is leaving Byrnes in their sides. Every possession he had other than his goal, thanks to Flash, was a turnover. Doesn't try and spoil if the ball is a bit high for him. Can't run. Insipid chasing. Offers nothing.

If we pick him in a side, we are waving the white flag.

Gotta justify that 2 year contract

Haha. my bad. Clisby in Terlich's HBF position... Terlich can stay in the BP.

Surely Magner has to play? What was the point in elevating him and then not playing him despite getting more than 30+ touches for Casey every week.

When Neil Craig rewards Clisby (deserved the call up) for consistent performances in the VFL, I thought of Magner & Couch straight away. Seeing that Magner was elevated from the rookie list and his consistent performances over that last 2 years @ VFL, then surely he deserves a call up, no he has earnt a call up.

Looks about right 'Tall', maybe Magner for Rodan or Byrnes but he seems to be on the outer at the moment.

I too like Tall's team. Perhaps Jetta, Magner or another mid in for Byrnes.

I bet the team will come out tomorrow and we will all be dumbfounded though. The thought process of us on here rarely aligns with their thinking. But if Pedersen plays, I won't be happy.

I know that McKenzie is viewed differently by many here, but I get the feeling that if he is fit then he will play.

With that in mind, I'd probably amend TD's suggestion to include McKenzie.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
